Can you imagine the crowd's reaction when they heard Angle's music and he came from behind the curtain?? Total "mark out" moment.

Kurt Angle claimed over Twitter that WWE was trying to sign him for the Royal Rumble but that he was remaining loyal to TNA. Angle tweeted in response to a fan question about whether he'd be a surprise entrant:

"Nope! I'm Happy Where I Am. No Rumble for Me!!!!

"My Loyalty Is With Tna. Wwe Is Knocking On My Door, But I Won't Answer."

OAKLAND, Calif. – During a WWE Live Event at Oakland's Oracle Center, Primo & Epico beat Kofi Kingston & Evan Bourne to capture the WWE Tag Team Championship. Kingston & Bourne held the titles since Aug. 22, 2011.

The victory for Primo & Epico comes less than a month after they attempted to dethrone "Air Boom" at WWE TLC 2011.

Primo previously won the WWE Tag Team Championship with Carlito in 2008. Then, at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, Primo & Carlito defeated World Tag Team Champions John Morrison & The Miz to become the Unified WWE Tag Team Champions. Together, Primo & Carlito held the titles until June 28, 2009, when they were defeated by Edge & Chris Jericho.

The victory marks the first championship in WWE for Epico since his Nov. 4, 2011 debut on SmackDown.

JJ Dillon comments on WWE HOF Induction, Ole Anderson, and more

Last week, the WWE announced that the legendary wrestling group the 4 Horsemen will be inducted into the WWE HOF on Saturday March 31st. Longtime Horsemen fans were ecstatic over the announcement. Unfortunately, controversy set in as many fans were upset over the fact that the WWE was intentionally leaving out Ole Anderson, one of the founding members. In Ole's place is Barry Windham, who joins JJ Dillon, Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson and Ric Flair as the inductees. On Sunday January 15th, I spoke with the famed Horsemen manager JJ Dillon about the WWE HOF induction, Ole Anderson and more.

Not only are wrestling fans excited about the Horsemen induction, minus the Ole fans, but JJ Dillon is also excited for the induction. The former manager of the Horsemen sees it as an honor and is incredibly humbled for the opportunity.

"It's an incredible honor. I'm humbled beyond belief. My career was a dream come true. It spanned 45 years and it was an incredible story." said Dillon who would further explain his relationship with Vince McMahon.

"What some people might not know is that I worked for the WWF in a management position for about 7 years. Unfortunately, things didn't end so well. I left the WWF, and I didn't speak to Vince for 10 years or so. Then I was surprised when they called me and asked me to be a part of Flair's farewell a few years ago. So, we're standing in the hallway and as Tully and I were about to go out there, Vince came up to us, shook our hands and thanked us for coming. That was the first time I spoke to him and it opened the doors for this tremendous opportunity to be inducted into the HOF."

The 4 Horsemen officially formed in 1986, but they had been loosely affiliated beforehand. However, it wasn't until after they were all told to go out and do a promo together, due to time constraints, that the Horsemen name began. At the time JJ Dillon was only managing Tully Blanchard who had the secondary title while Ric Flair was the world champion and The Andersons had the tag-team titles. During the promo, Arn Anderson stated "The only time this much havoc had been wreaked by this few a number of people, you need to go all the way back to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!"

His comments stuck with the crowd and soon fans were calling them the 4 Horsemen and holding up four fingers. Dillon recalls that magical moment that changed pro-wrestling forever.

"It was not even a plan to group us. It just happened. We had all the titles and someone told us to go out there because we were running short on time and they told us to go out there. Flair was world champion, Tully had a belt and I actually I only managed Tully at the point. That grouping had all the titles and all the bragging rights. We went out there and Arn said what he said. It was primarily a group of young college kids in the audience. In subsequent appearances, the Horsemen name began to grow as the kids in the crowd were holding up 4 fingers and calling us the 4 Horsemen."

Not only did the fans reaction to Anderson's promo shock all the members involved but it came as a huge surprise to the promoter Jim Crockett. Dillon recalls a time early in the Horsemen's unofficial days that Crockett came up to him and asked about the 4 Horsemen:

"Crockett asked us about this 4 Horsemen thing. We told him to pay attention to the fans, because that is where it grew from. Eventually he did and the whole thing just took off."

The 4 Horsemen quickly became one of the top draws in all of pro-wrestling. They were the best wrestlers in the NWA and they feuded with top stars like Dusty Rhodes and the Road Warriors. When asked what made the group so special or successful, Dillon replied as follows:

"We were in the right place at the right time. Once we started traveling together and this association grew, we realized, that we genuinely enjoyed spending time together. So, we did everything together. Even on are days off, we still hung out with each other. We all loved the business and were committed to being the best."

The 4 Horsemen eventually changed over the years as some members left and others joined. It's this exchanging of members that has Horsemen fans in a heated debate over which group was the best. In fact, over 25 years later, Horsemen fans still argue over which group was the best. JJ Dillon weighed in on which version he thought was the best group of Horsemen.

"The original horsemen were always special. Ole was a great success story in wrestling. He had a great mind in the business but was very outspoken. I knew Ole for a long, long time. I understand him and have a personal friendship with him. Ole is very outspoken, and would have nothing to do with Vince McMahon and the WWF. In terms of the in-ring product, the version with Barry was the best. In fact it was the best that it got in wrestling. There wasn't anyone better than us at a grouping."

Ole Anderson's feud with Vince McMahon has become a mutual hatred between each other, which is the sole reason why the WWE is not including Ole in the Horsemen induction. Last Friday, Ole made the...ce McMahon: "I hate his guts just like he hates mine. It’s no big deal.”

JJ would go on to further discuss the inclusion of Barry Windham and why it makes perfect sense business wise:

"Barry's father Blackjack Mulligan is already in the HOF. Barry was a former backstage road agent and was also there when we reunited for Flair's retirement with the WWF. As a business decision, I'm ok with Barry being inducted. Some fans might not know, but Barry has been going through some really difficult health issues. At one point it was a really grave situation. Barry overcoming these serious health problems is just another part of the back-story, in terms of a human interest story of him being there. It's a wonderful story for him to be there."

Barry and JJ go way back. In fact, Barry's first professional wrestling match was against JJ Dillon on November 27th, 1979 in Odessa, Texas. Dillon has also known Windham's father Blackjack Mulligan for a long time as well. Dillon worked with Mulligan both in the ring and behind the scenes. When asked who he would like to induct the Horsemen into the HOF, Dillon picked Mulligan as his first choice.

"I would like to see Blackjack Mulligan induct us in the HOF. He's already in the HOF and his son is now being inducted. Mulligan was a man's man. He was as tough as they come. Dusty Rhodes was the second one to come to mind for inducting us, as Horsemen fans know that some of our greatest success came when feuding with Dusty. He was one of the greatest in this business. My third choice would be HHH, who's very close friends with Flair. He's somebody that I have a lot of respect for. He got his start in the WWF when I was still working in the office."

In addition to being happy for Barry Windham, Dillon expressed the most happiness for Arn Anderson. JJ talked about the sacrifices that Arn had made for the Horsemen and how he deserves the credit and honor of this induction.

"I'm happiest for Arn over everybody. He really didn't get due credit for everything he did in his career. He had injuries and just kept wrestling. A lesser man would have taken time off. But we were enjoying so much success at the time, that basically Arn Anderson sacrificed his health for us. As a result of that decision, it cut his career short. He deserves this honor. Arn was one of the greatest wrestlers ever."

Arn Anderson was definitely a catalyst for the success of the Horsemen. In fact, when Arn left in 1988 to jump to the WWF with Tully Blanchard, the Horsemen folded. It wasn't until Arn returned a few years later that the Horsemen were revived. Some Horsemen fans wonder how great the Horsemen could have been if Arn and Tully didn't leave. Dillon has a different perspective on Arn and Tully's departure:

"I think everything eventually runs its course, everything good comes to an end. It was just the politics, and it reached the point that Arn and Tully felt they needed to do something else. They had a chance to go into the WWF as a team with Booby Heenan as their manager. Who would turn that opportunity down?"

The Horsemen's in-ring days eventually did come to an end in 1999. However, the Horsemen's legacy still lives on in the annals of pro-wrestling history and with the legion of fans that still hold up their 4 fingers whenever they see a former Horsemen. After 25 years since the group formed, fans still revere these wrestlers. When asked why he thought the Horsemen are still so revered, Dillon had the following response:

"There was something special about that group of guys. Their chemistry was something special and magical. Even though we would go out week after week and get our butts whooped. We would come back with all of the gold and tell everyone about it. The fact that this was something special that worked far beyond anything's expectations 25 years ago, is the reasons why it's still so revered now."

DAMN!!! The dancers with Brodus Clay got some ASS!! *slurp* But what's up with Clay feelin' all up on JTG? What, is he a cross between Goldust and Rikishi now? Ugh.

So, I guess Truth is now back to shuckin' and jivin' and dancin' for the "Jimmies". disbelief Funny promo beforehand, though. I guess they had him win the match in honor of MLK day. But then took 3 steps back afterwards with the dancing.

It was good to see Foley actually "wrestling" in a WWE ring again. Though, they failed to explain why Foley lied so the ref would allow him in the match. It's not like he got to get his hands on Ziggler who ran a nice promo on him at the beginning of the show. I wonder if they plan on having him challenge Big Johnny for the GM job, since most ppl expect him to get that job eventually anyway. I will say, though, that Laryngitis is really growing on me. He told my stella Eve to "shut her mouth". LMAO!

As far as Cena goes, I guess he's starting to "let the hate flow through him", as Emperor PalpaKane is mentoring him to do.

WWE announced Tuesday morning that Matthew Korklan, who performs as Evan Bourne, has been suspended for 60 days for his second violation of the company's Talent Wellness Program. The RAW Superstar went on Twitter to apologize to fans for his latest infraction.

"Sorry y'all. Sometimes we become our own worst enemy," he tweeted Tuesday afternoon.

During Sunday's RAW Live Event at Oakland's Oracle Center, Bourne and Kofi Kingston lost the WWE Tag Team Championship to Primo and Epico. The duo lost to the Tag Team Champions in short order in their rematch on Monday's Raw SuperShow.

Meanwhile, former WWE announcer Todd Grisham, who now works as a news anchor for ESPN, took to Twitter to express his disappointment in the situation.

He wrote, "Shocked about Evan Bourne. Once could be chalked up to a bad decision...twice and there's a real problem. Hope he gets well. Great guy."

I believe the botch came in at Kofi basically putting his head down and waited for Boreton's RKO. The sequence looked hella fake, and I THINK that's what he was upset about. Dumb thing to go to the back and have them cut off his push for, I'll tell you that much. neutral

Darren took the advantage after a reversed suplex, and hit his signature, but Titus kicked out. When Darren tried his signature again, Titus countered with his and pinned Darren.

Titus grabbed the mic and thanked the crowd for nothing. He proceeded to gain heat as he went on a tirade about his useless fans and pro, Hornswoggle. He was booed out of the arena.

A Royal Rumble promo was shown.

2. Percy Watson pinned Heath Slater. This was billed as an alumni match. Following some forgettable action, Percy scored the pin.

3. Yoshi Tatsu and Trent Barretta vs Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks. Tag match. Hawkins and Reks win after a cane shot and DDT.

The Johnny Curtis and Maxine wedding started off with a mediocre Elvis impersonation. Curtis entered in a leather jacket and tuxedo shirt. Derrick interrupted and revealed he was not the one behind the email, but Curtis was. The two brawled over Maxine as the crowd got a pretzel. Maxine held him and Derrick ended the fight. The two kissed and NXT ended.

WWE Superstars Taping

Tamina pinned Natalya with a Superfly splash off the top.

WWE Smackdown Taping

World champ Daniel Bryan comes out first for a promo. Explains that what the Big Show did last week was a sin and that he pretended to be sorry. The crowd is all over Bryan as a heel. Bryan is awesome in this role. He says AJ put herself in that position because she loves him. He says Show should do the right thing and just quit. Don't know how this will come off on TV but the crowd hates this guy.

1. Cody Rhodes vs. Hornswoggle. Justin Gabriel came out to stick up for Hornswoggle and take his place. Rhodes wins with his finisher.

Mark Henry is in the back next and spins the wheel. He gets a Lumberjack match. He says Daniel Bryan is next in the Hall of Pain.

2. WWE Tag Champions Primo and Epico defeated The Uso Brothers.

Brodus Clay comes out for a dance off next against Vickie Guerrero. Total heat for Vickie. This woman can't dance and the crowd is behind Clay. He wins the dance off and Vickie tries to dance again when William Regal comes out and pleads with the people not to laugh at her and escorts her away. Brodus then insults Regal and challenges him to a dance off. Wrestling purists are rolling in their graves. When Regal starts dancing, Clay catches Regal with a splash and dances around the ring.

3. Tables match: Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett. After a Jinder Mahal distraction, Barrett puts Sheamus through a table. Mahal attacks Sheamus. Sheamus puts Mahal through a table

4. Ted DiBiase vs. Hunico in a flag match. DiBiase wins after getting the USA flag.

Teddy Long in the back fires Drew McIntyre. Santino begs for Drew's job back and challenges him to match. He spins the wheel and gets a Blindfold match. If Drew wins, he keeps his job

5. Santino vs Drew McIntyre blindfold match. It makes Rick Martel vs. Jake Roberts look like Flair vs. Steamboat. Pure comedy. Santino wins with the Cobra. Guess Drew is fired again!

6. Lumberjack match next. Mark Henry vs. Daniel Bryan for the World title. Match goes to no contest after The Lumberjacks attack both guys and Bryan leaves. Henry leaves also while the lumberjacks are fighting Rumble style. Sheamus starts throwing people over the top to show he can win the Rumble. The show ends with Sheamus standing tall in center of ring.

Dark Match

Daniel Bryan vs. Big Show in a Cage. Bryan keeps the title after interference from McIntyre and Barrett, who attack Show in the cage. Sheamus comes out to make the save. Show double chokeslams the heels to end the night.

Okay, now they're just turning Clay into another dancing fool AKA Rikishi. disbelief

So he got mad at Kofi for botching the ending of the match. Was the match supposed to be Kofi's/Cena's or what? confuse

I believe the botch came in at Kofi basically putting his head down and waited for Boreton's RKO. The sequence looked hella fake, and I THINK that's what he was upset about. Dumb thing to go to the back and have them cut off his push for, I'll tell you that much. neutral

Ahhh I get it now... damn Kofi. confused

CM Punk recently said that he doesn't want to be viewers as a role model, even if he might make a good one. Punk made the comments in a recent Arizona Republic interview promoting Monday's RAW.

Q: Are American fans not respectful? (After commenting that Japan has respectful fans.)

A: It's just a lack of "excuse me" and "please" and "thank you." I'm a pretty approachable guy, but I've had my headphones taken off my head in the gym, people poking me in the back like I'm a farm animal. It's a part of the game.

Q: With so many young fans, you must find yourself being a role model.

A: Absolutely. I'm the straight-edge guy. I'm a damn good guy to look up to. But I approach it the way Charles Barkley approached it. I'm not a role model. Everybody should choose their own path in life. I don't get preachy with the straight-edge stuff.

Q: Do people put you on a pedestal because of it?

A: I find myself being a target as opposed to being put on a pedestal. I get criticized a lot. There are people who are skeptical about it or scared by it or intimidated by it.

Q: Do you mind that a personal choice like that has become part of your public persona?

A: No, because it's who I am. People say, "When did you decide to be straight edge?" I was born this way. It's nothing I really decided (pause) and, right now, while I'm talking, on the treadmill and doing an interview, there's a guy standing over here, taking pictures … (He politely asks the guy to stop, which doesn't seem to go well). All right, and now he just flipped me off, and I'm the (expletive). See what I mean? (sighing) … Anyway, I don't think I have a persona per se. I'm not trying to be something I'm not.

Q: What about acting? So many WWE people go into the movies.

A: That's not up to me, but it's nothing I'm actively pursuing. I never say never to anything, but it's nothing I'm looking to actively do.

I wonder what started the hatred between Ole and Vince

and I've read somewhere about Ole's....prejudice neutral

Ole was part owner of Georgia Championship Wrestling (which aired on TBS from 1972-1984) with The Brisco Bros. Jack and Gerry Brisco sold their shares to Vince in 1984 and the WWF took over the TV timeslot. Ole absolutely refused to work with Vince and told him about himself. After WWF programming FAILED MISERABLY on TBS (NWA fans refused to watch), Vince sold the timeslot to Jim Crockett (that was the birth of World Championship Wrestling) in 1985 for $1 million, then used that money to put on Wrestlemania I. (Google "Black Saturday")

I'm not so sure about Ole being a racist or whatever. I think you might be referring to Bill Watts.

Ole was definitely a racist according to Teddy Long and Tony Atlas in this Roundtable Discussion.

Bill Watts also defends himself against being called a racist. It's really a great show and they talk about some guys I didn't know about.

Good to know Jericho's back "long-term". He can teach these new guys how to be a REAL "superstar"!

Jericho home and he's ready to rock

Jericho says he's excited to be in Winnipeg, but regrets not bringing a warm jacket.

WWE superstar Chris Jericho isn't going to let a pile of rocks stop him from grabbing a pizza at D-Jay's Restaurant.

Now based in California, the former Winnipegger says he caught wind of the controversy surrounding his favourite local haunt, which saw the restaurant's neighbour pile tonnes of boulders to prevent patrons from parking on his adjacent lot.

"When you get a place like that that's kind of an institution, people are always going to find a way to go there," Jericho said over the phone from California. "I make a point to go to D-Jay's. That's pretty much the place for me.

"I think I would just walk over the rocks, I don't care. The pizza's too good. Not gonna let a couple rocks stop me."

Jericho may have to order his pizza to go since he's only going to be in town for one day.

After a 15-month hiatus, Jericho suddenly appeared on WWE's Monday Night RAW on Jan. 2. This set the stage for his return to his hometown on Friday night.

The WWE confirmed that Jericho will be a part of the SuperShow at the MTS Centre, and he might be just as excited as the fans themselves.

"Its always great to come back to Winnipeg, its always a blast for me," Jericho said. "That's where I grew up and where I got an appreciation for wrestling, for music and for everything that I'm into. There are great fans in Winnipeg. For everything I've ever done, the fans in Winnipeg have always been there, so it's exciting."

Jericho's return to Winnipeg is just one of two major comebacks to hit the city in the past year and, as someone who grew up here, Jericho was just as much of a Winnipegger as anyone else here on the day the Jets made their triumphant return.

"We all know how crazy Winnipeggers are for hockey, and I'm sure that's the best building in the whole league to play in and it's going to stay that way for years and years and years to come. And the Jets are responding, they're doing great. It's fun to open up the paper every day and see what the standings are, who's scoring and who's doing good. I'm a huge Winnipeg Jets fan, I always have been but now it's bigger than ever, probably."

As for having a favourite Jets player, Jericho said he's got a couple.

"Probably (Evander) Kane, he's my favourite," Jericho said. "I'm still trying to figure out how to pronounce (Byfuglien)'s name, so when I figure that out he'll be one of my favourites, too."

The last time Jericho performed with the WWE in Winnipeg was back in January 2009.

Growing up here, Jericho is used to the harsh weather January brings, but said he enjoys seeing the reactions of some of the other wrestlers who aren't so accustomed to the frigid weather.

"I was laughing my head off last time because I set myself up right by the door, so I could watch everybody walk into the arena and see the varying degrees of pain, shock and astonishment on their faces as they walked through the door," Jericho said. "You don't know anything about cold until you've been to Winnipeg in January."

"I have... one day in Winnipeg, and I was like, 'Well, I'm not gonna bother packing a super warm jacket because I don't have room for it.' I know I'm gonna be paying the price for that 18 hours I'm in The Peg for not bringing a jacket."

Jericho said he always loves the reaction he gets in Winnipeg, but finds that he is well-received no matter where he goes across the country.

"When you go back to Canada, anywhere in Canada, people really cheer for you, it's so typical Canadian," Jericho said. "I could go to Halifax, where I've been probably two times in my life and people will go crazy for you. We're definitely very proud of our own no matter where we are, or what city we're in."

While no opponent has yet been named for Jericho on Friday, he promises that it will be the "greatest night" of the fans' lives. While Jericho has departed from and returned to the WWE a couple times now, he said he's going to be around for a while now.

"I have no intentions of leaving anytime soon, I'm in the best shape of my life I feel great. The thing for me is I always have lots of other stuff going on and I always have. So sometimes I leave to work on other projects, but I'll always come back."

Jericho's band Fozzy just signed a major record deal with Century Media Records, which Jericho said is the result of 12 years of hard work paying off.

"When I was growing up in Winnipeg I wanted to be two things: I wanted to be a wrestler and I wanted to be in a rock and roll band and I've been lucky enough to have both of those dreams come true."
