when i was just an innocent child of maybe three or four

i would always ask if whut i saw on the telly was 'for real'

my grandmother would be the only one around to tell me the truth.

at some point there came on a show a puppet (charley mc carthy)

and my grandmother told me that he talked, he was funny.

but then came the day we went to crystal beach in canada

and right at the so called FUN HOUSE there was the big fat

LAUGHIN LADY.

this thing looked VERY REAL and it was real funny, at first.

the woman laughed and laughed. she laughed really hard.

she laughed and she leaned from side to side, and she jiggled.

then she was laughin so hard she had to lean back.

now me, i was there lauughin right with her. when she leaned back

i was in the middle of a good one.... i thought she was a real lady.

then alla sudden she flopped forward, and i almost fainted.

she was a foot or two from my face screamin and i was ready to die.

the next puppet i saw was on like the twilight zone

and he was goin 'round killin folk ,in the story

and everybody who watched the show thought it was qwite scarry.

i could not sleep for days.

so when my older brother got a puppet of his own, for x-mass

i found it qwite unbarable to be in the same house with it.

i always thought it was the kid of the killer puppet, and the laughin lady.

and of course everyone knew i had issues arround puppets

so they went out their way to make it talk, and be places it hadn't been

the last time i looked.

one night after bed time,

as i lay in my bed and this puppet was up on his shelf in the closet

i had the thought that the next day when my brother went to school

i would take the puppet and stuff it down the encenerator.

just as i was havin that thought, the puppet fell forward and looked

rite at me.

i never recovered from that... EVER

and now this

Fa la-la-la-la La la-la-la....
