Anybody watching "Welcome to Sweetie Pies" on OWN?

I'm really loving this Reality show...When I saw the previews a while back I was "ify" about watching it. Then I watched the 1st episode and had to add it to my DVR-line-up...

Ms. Robbie is a trip. She has a very interesting life-story...She really needs to write a book..."Sweetie Pie's" is the BEST reality show out of the Zillion reality shows on OWN...It's REAL...

Oprah better do something fast about some of the programing...

ABOUT THE SHOW
Welcome to Sweetie Pie's
WHEN IT'S ON
Saturdays at 9/8c
When Robbie Montgomery, a 1960's backup singer and former "Ikette" of the Ike and Tina Turner Revue, suffered a collapsed lung and had to stop singing, she decided to pour her talents into another creative venture -- a soul food restaurant called Sweetie Pie's. At her family-oriented eatery, which she runs with her son, Tim, both hilarity and drama are offered in equal measure.

It turns out, at the age of seventy, Miss Robbie's life in the limelight is not over, as she finds herself still entertaining the masses every day at Sweetie Pie's! You can always find her on the floor of the restaurant, during the busy lunch rush, cutting up and chatting with the slew of customers who come from all over the world to get a taste of her famous soul food. Her headstrong son, Tim, is her business partner, and together they have two Sweetie Pie's locations running successfully. For Miss Robbie, however, that is not enough, and now she is working to build her legacy and plans to open a new, even bigger Sweetie Pie's in downtown St. Louis, where as a little girl, she was not allowed during segregation. She's come a long way, and this willful woman doesn’t plan on letting anything stand in the way of her dreams to own a building with a huge restaurant and banquet facility.

While Miss Robbie juggles her business and the day-to-day kitchen chaos at Sweetie Pie's, she is also the glue that holds her family together. She is constantly lighting fires under her lazy nephew, Charles, and trying to train him to be a manager at the restaurant, so she can know she has enough family to run it after she's gone. Her sisters help her run the original Sweetie Pie's location, and are constantly pawning Charles off on Miss Robbie, because he does no work to help them out. Her son Tim, is a hard worker, but just as stubborn as she is, and this mother-son duo are constantly bickering back and forth. Yet, despite their non-stop squabbling, they have fierce loyalty to one another. As Tim so aptly points out, he is the Clyde to her Bonnie.

As we follow the antics of this spirited family, we witness not only Miss Robbie's business growing, but her family growing as well. Tim's girlfriend, Jenae is pregnant, and this means Miss Robbie is expecting a grandson! Tim is planning to propose and become a family man, despite his history of being a player, and against the wishes of his close friends. Through laughter and tears, singing and quarreling, you will fall in love with the Montgomery family again and again, as you watch Miss Robbie's empire grow. One thing's for sure...you will find yourself craving seconds of some good ol' home cooked, Sweetie Pie's soul food.

Watch the first five minutes of Welcome to Sweetie Pie's before it's television debut! Then, tune in Saturdays at 9/8c for all new episodes of Sweetie Pies, part of a whole new season of OWN!

"Sweetie" & Lisa Ling's show are the 2 most popular programs on the Network...If Oprah and her producers can build more programing similar to the 2 then she'll be on a roll..

That's IF she's trying to go REALITY TV permanently...

I am loving this show. I haven't missed an episode yet.

The nephew is so damn lazy. I want to go through the television and slap him sometimes.

so far I was only able to find one episode online mad But for people located in the States I'm sure you could probably find it streaming with HULU or on Oprah's website.

So far I liked it alot and even passed it on to some of the older black immigrants here who remember when Miss Robbie was a Ikette: a couple of them are retired men hovering near 70 years old, so you know they are all up online checking everything like drooling . I'm not sure if it's because they think Miss Robbie is still fine, or if it's because they miss all that good soul food from home. lol

I think you'll like it. This is the type of programming Oprah should have been doing from the beginning.

The "Lean on me" episode is my favorite so far....This reality show is the BEST reality show I've ever seen. What an amazing family that draws you in. BET's "The Family Cruise" was my #1 but now I have to move The Cruises down to 2nd place...

And the food..I get hiungry every time they show that Buffett bar...

Oprah Orders 10 More Epis...ie Pies’

According to media Guru, Jawn Murray, Oprah’s struggling OWN Network has ordered up 10 more episodes of its #1 rated show ‘Welcome To Sweetie Pies’.

According to STLToday.com, ‘Sweeties’ averages 388,000 viewers per episode, up 73 percent from a year earlier.

The show follows owner Robbie Montgomery — a former original back-up singer for Ike & Tina Turner — as she serves her mother’s soul food recipes at her popular St Louis-based “Sweetie Pie’s restaurant.

Miss Robbie, who at age 72 has never been married, was in Atlanta yesterday attending the 2011 Soul Train Awards with her family. Her oldest son, Tim, who helps run the business, told blogger Tami of Talkingwithtami.com that he was incarcerated for 10 years and turned his life around when he got out. Tim and his girlfriend, Jenae, have a son who was born prematurely during taping of the show [Thanks, iscream].

I'm not surprised at all....Now all the Network has to do is promote the show all over the place and it will get even higher ratings next season...OWN dropped a Zillion reality shows this year and "Sweetie Pies" is the ONLY one they need to focus on...

This is great news. This has become my favorite new reality show! I told my mom about it yesterday and sure enough a marathon was on and now she's hooked too!!! I'm telling you, word is spreading quick about this show and lots people are tuning in. I was disgusted by Charles in last night's new episode. I swear they give that dummy way too many chances to redeem himself. He's not even taking the suspension seriously. disbelief

I don't mean no harm, but if he's wondering why he keeps ending up in the "friend" category with women, maybe it's because he seems very purse Just sayin'. If he isn't, then maybe you shouldn't ask your date if she has taxi money.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
