Just for the record though - I'm not a transvestite. I'm not thriving to look like a woman. I'm just putting on whatever I think might look funky, not expecting 80-year-old grannies to call me a "nice, elegant, young man".

comfort

I'm not hatin' on you wanting to wear those (even if not a fan of the shoe itself boxed). They look a bit Payless to me.

When I was in my late teens/early 20's I'd do the whole androgyny thing when clubbing. My hair was shaved but I did a sort of Boy George-ish look and glue sequins and shit to my face. My bald head was often sprinkled in glitter. lol And I'd mix and match mens/womens clothes, but none necessaraly obvious in the fit. Even if I wore a womans shoe (heel) it would be a chunky type that sort of blurred the look.

If you like them fuck what anyone says, but you did put it up (at the org of all places) for discussion. You've been here long enough to know better. lol

I think most comments are coming from a place that these shoes make Prince's look butch, not that you want to mix n match genders in your look. They don't blur any line in my eyes, they just look like weak frilly girl shoes. shrug

This is where they will not make you look "cool" so much as a "nice young elegant transvestite" razz

Besides, most transvestites don't run around fully dressed up. Some just run around with one or two women's items concealed beneath their male clothes. Like panties. Just ask Joe Tyler. nod

confused Come on...didn't Snuggles there tug at your heartstrings even for just a teeeeeny little bit???

Fake fur was invented for those who don't want their compassion for widdle wabbits & such to get in the way of their fashion sense.

They're boots anyway...why waste good pelts on your FEET???

You're still not getting it. The point is...if you're opposed to fur, you shouldn't want to even hint that you are wearing animal skins.

Why?

It's unacceptable for someone to like and want the look of fur, while still being unwilling to support the fur trade?

I don't get this "shouldn't" business.

It's what you make it.

if I like the taste, why not? what's the problem? Genesia is certainly not the one to decide for me or others. if I like the look of a leopard suit or the look of fur, what's the problem? I can't see one, seriously.

and I could argue that explicitly using a substitute and showing it in the open to everyone is in fact a statement, part of a mission to convert others also to AVOID real fur or REAL meat. come to think of it, if you are against it, it makes TOTAL sense to let everyone know: "I USE SUBSITUTE! I DON'T KILL ANIMALS! FOLLOW ME AND DO THE SAME!"

Good point! nod

We could probably argue the point back and forth for a long while, but instead, Imma go cook up some bacon in my fur slippers!! wink

lol

Yep, I get your point. It's difficult discussing what I think/hope the shoes will look like on my body, with the rest picked my Vanity's wardrobe too. But I started this discussion about the shoe itself, so it's all my fault anyway. cry

Challenge accepted! When I get them, I'll post and picture/video with me wearing them. I'll show you how cool and butch they really are! mad

I don't know much about transvestites, I must add. Never wasted time thinking about the concept or trying to fit myself into the word. I'm just an amazingly fonkay little skinny motherfucker who likes to make old wrinkly milfs stare cool

At least I wanna be... and those shoes will help me, I'm telling you!

I have a couple of heels with "proper" heels, but I won't ever wear stilettos or shoes with heels too thin for my liking.

Both these I own and love!

But I just like the look of wedges!

I don't get the appeal of these type boots unless you're in a remake of Return of the Jedi.

edit:

not to mention if one's leg is that width or wider from the calf up, then you have big ole furry tree trunk legs.

Okay, this totally reminded me of...

lol

God, I love that documentary. When he says, "...which in this case would probably be the Upper East Side," it reminds me of one of my favorite (and now outdated) Seinfeld lines:

"This is the way society functions. Aren’t you a part of society? Because if you don't want to be a part of society, Jerry, why don't you just get in your car and move to the EAST SIDE!"

I'll have a look at them and then decide whether to keep them. I'm thinking about whether to post a pic on here with me wearing them, but I'd rather not let you folks decide. hmph!

Not again...

I don't need to want people to think I am straight. The ones who should care know damn well and clothing has absolutely nothing to do with sexuality.

Hell, most gay folks I know (and I know many) dress "normally", like all other men would.

I really have nothing against your opinion of those shoes, but your childish cliché talk is taking it a bit too far again... and judging from past discussions with you, I know that you're actually serious about this bullshit you're posting about "gayness", what's "typically gay" and who on this forum actually is "gay" without them even knowing it...

Please.

Just I hope you can see how one could get that impression if you start talking about shoes and acting all flamboyant and camp...

Anyway....i'm not gonna keep on this anymore, it's up to you to be honest about who you are, OK?

I could see how narrow-minded, childish, redneck, pseudo-conservative, cliché-loving-and-living idiots could think that high-heeled shoes on a man equals gay and that it is a point worth mentioning, because all a healthy man should try to avoid is to come across as gay, but I didn't believe this could happen on a Prince web-site...
