The walking Dead - Season 2

Anyone watching this? After a brilliant first season from Episode 1 through to the season finale, I have been waiting with excitement for season 2. A little disappointed at the slow start, but hoping it picks up now, or it may be doomed to cancellelation like many other shows did.

Hoping it doesn't have a lame ass ending like Lost did too, 5 years of watching Lost and its finale sucked like a broken Dyson sad Started watching Terra Nova, thinking it would be something different and now realising it is another lame ass show mad

Life is short, don't be a dick.

I haven't missed an episode yet, & I actually agree with you about it having a slow start. But this season is twice as long as last season, so I believe it will pick up soon. Lost had the most disappointing final season ever imho. It almost totally made me hate ever getting into that show.... mad

I'm still up in the air about Terra Nova right now.... neutral

Yeah, I think they are wasting a lot of time with character development and introducing new characters. Introducing new characters is fine but at least have the zombies chasing them while you are doing it! lol I, too, hope that things pick up. Thus far, the second season hasn't been nearly as exciting as the first. I hope this doesn't turn into another "True Blood", where the vampires are doing everything except acting like vampires. "The Walking Dead" is about zombies! I want to see more zombie action! Fuck character development!!!

The only other show I enjoy watching, though Channel 4 only bought Season 1 sad is My Name is Earl, now that is hilariously funny lol lol

Never watched True Blood, not a Vampire fan tbh. I like my Zombies razz

That is so funny!

I was planning on starting a thread about it as soon as I got home... and here it is! biggrin

Although it's slow, I like that fact that it's playing like "a drama that happens to have zombies in it". I think I'd get tired of them only fighting off zombies week after week.

I was completely omfg at Shane's flashback. disbelief
But I guess he did what he needed to do.

She was in a car accident, knocked out cold. When she woke up, her kids weren't in the back seat. She ran to her ex's house, where the kids had gone. It was the beginning of the epidemic, so she encountered a few zombies.

At the house, she found out that the ex's new wife had already turned. He shot her and rolled her in the rug, but he shot her in the stomach, so she got up and went after the kids. Mom killed her with an ax or something to the head.

Dad ran to get the keys to the neighbor's truck, but the neighbor's kids attacked him and he never came back. Mom decided to make a run for the "safe station" that was set up, but got bitten on the arm. She gave her daughter a gun and told her to take her brother and keep running.

The zombies attacked her and ripped her in half.

It fades out with her lying in the grass, trying to drag herself along- how Rick found her.

It was in 6 short parts on the website.

Awesome biggrin Now thats what we need in the DVD Box set

I am also hoping he meets up with teh Guy and the Kid from Season 1 - I forgot the names, but they where the ones who whacked Rick round the head with a Shovel. It would be a shame to kill them off so soon and so little showtime, we need some happiness biggrin

P.S NO Spoilers please ........... lol lol lol

just watched episode 3 season 2 and got to say it's gone down hill big time.

What's with all the god shit in it? it's about zombies and the undead, I know jesus is technically a zombie but it's doing my head in... the only reason i can think of as to why god has made such an appearance in a godless world is to appease advertisers.... pitiful.

and what's with the crap cliffhangers before and after adds? as my better half said 'it's like some wank American show'

and the characters... they could all get eaten for me except the sheriff and it wouldn't in the slightest affect the show. I don't give a shit about the characters, they are shallow Lost type bits of who-gives-a-shitness....

and the house, with the lights on out in the open, with hot running water, electricity and no one keeping a look out... where did they get their zombie cloaking device from?

the Walking Dead needs to get back to concentrating on the walking dead people instead of the boring alive people... if it doesn't sort itself out I doubt I'll get past episode 5...

disappointed!

You all know this is already a published storyline in graphic novel form that people were reading a few years ago, and is ongoing (issues still coming out)?

It's a really popular one too, and known to kill off characters brutally.

I heard it's a comic book, also.

about the books starting in 2006: "Taking a well-worn genre—flesh-eating zombies overrun the world and the unlucky surviving humans must deal with the gruesome aftermath—and approaching it from a purely character-driven point of view propels this series into the spotlight from out of nowhere."

It's already up to issue #84. The tv show is a new thing that is following it, from what I understand.

The best advice I can give you is to just watch something else. lol

But to comment on the bold parts:

Just because you don't believe in something, doesn't mean that no one does... wink

In a time when the world is coming down around them, people might turn to a higher power for comfort. If you paid attention to what was being said during that scene, it was clear that the characters were trying to find a glimmer of something hopeful to cling to in a hopeless situation.

Advertisers? Really?

I do, however, agree with what you said about that house seeming like it's out of place in a zombie apocalypse. I kept expecting a zombie to just pop up on the porch while one of them was sitting out there in the dark. nod

I was a bit puzzled by the House too, but I am wondering if theres something coming in relation to that. Otherwise they could end teh Series there by everyone moving in and living a "The Waltons" style life lol wink

I think the preview showed a zombie down in the well.

I have the feeling that family did some crazy stuff with their dead, like in Romero's "Survival of the Dead". hmm

I've been watching. It's slower the past two weeks, but I do appreciate the series producers aim to cultivate some substance above mindless gore and action. I think that's good both for broadening the potential audience of The Walking Dead and for restoring the dignity of horror as a respected literary genre.

That said, I wonder if I'm getting too old for horror. Seems I can less and less stomach unrelenting misery with so little payoff. shrug

OK Chocolate1, that is kind of my point... surely when all the zombieness kicked off things like gods and religions were abandoned... i think gods and zombies are mutually exclusive... they might try to find hope in humanity but not in something as irrelevant as gods post zombie apocalypse... it's lazy, clichéd writing and there has been so much of it in the first 3 episodes that there must be some sort of agenda.

there was something else i forgot when i was ranting last night too, what is with all the children in peril-tug on the heart strings based story lines? write the children out of it!

It is like when you watch an 18 rated film (is it 'R' in America?) and you really like it so you watch the sequel which this time, for commercial reasons has been rated 15, and the sequel is just like a watered down version and is ultimately crap...

having said all that it could easily pick up towards the end of the series.
