Boardwalk Empire Epi 22: Georgia Peaches

OOOOOOMMMMMMGGGGGGG!!!!!!! Did y'all see this last night??? Phew Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy disbelief

See this is what happens when you DON'T take care of business in a sufficient manner. I know he is going to go nuts when he finds out what Manny has done. But most of all, I'm interested in what Richard is going to do. I get this urging feeling that Richard makes better decisions than Jimmy does and could lead way better than Jimmy ever could. But we shall see next week.

Gotta love Chalky. That man should have a spinoff show based off his character alone.

Eli is still a snake.

So is Margaret going to confess to Nucky next week about her indiscretions??? hmmm

Also I was clapping when Rose served Nelson divorce papers. So what is he going to do next?

Jimmy's incompetence to lead has reached its peak. What's next?

Questions, questions, questions. popcorn

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

This episode, in my mind, was all about Jimmy. He's got some decent instincts -- note his negotiation with Chalky -- but he never saw Nucky's end-run coming, he never should have insulted Manny, he's written off the Commodore, and his business partners are antsy.

What's sad is that the best thing he had going -- his marriage -- is over. The last few scenes between him and his wife were awesome.

Richard is going to go crazier than Jimmy.

Van Alden is going to explode.

Only 2 shows left....I'm hooked on this show. It's really getting good. What am I going to watch on sundays when this goes off?

I don't disagree with you here, but the problem with Jimmy that makes him incompetent is that he doesn't TRUST those decent instincts. That's his number one problem, he isn't confident that he can pull things off and be numero uno. As soon as someone whispers in his ear (like his whore mother, or when Eli suggested to kill off Nucky) or insults his ideas (like the Commodore) he goes with "the majority" instead of having a backbone and letting them know who's the boss. Even as insecure as Richard is about his face, when it comes to his decisions about business, he's confident.

chalky's got some subterfugeic plans in regard to his next move. it's going to be a big surprise for the city fahthas.

poor margeret, i think she's trying to get the priest to absolve her with a holy water martini cocktail and a lot of pray. i hope her daughter is on her way to recovery before the last episode.

nucky? i don't know. hopefully his shoes will be dry before the show ends.

Possibly the best episode of the series so far, from either season.

I'm not sure Jimmy is going to make it much longer than Angela. Things haven't exactly been going his way.

Margaret needs to snap out of her annoying Irish Catholic guilt. I've loved her character until the last couple episodes. Moping, sad Margaret doesn't seem like the same character they've been building for the last two seasons. Unfortunately, I think things are going to get worse for her, too, as her son has definitely pushed a button in Nucky's brain.

Van Alden is so awesomely broken. I have complete faith in his eventual turn to the dark side.

I wonder if the shit that piling up for both Nucky and Jimmy will bring them back together. Don't know how, but who knows?

On a side note, is everyone else annoyed with the title music? Everything else seems so perfect and in style with the 20s but song is just annoying and bland and doesn't fit.

I'm thinking that yes, ultimately Nucky and Jimmy will be on the same page again, however, it definitely won't be anytime soon. Jimmy would have to hit rock bottom in order for Nucky to have any sympathy for him.

er

Loving Boardwalk Empire, especially all those beautiful period clothes!! I really should live my life in a period drama, Lol! Here's a piece of insignificant info, all the curtains & lace used in the show were made in a wee town in Scotland, about 10mins from me. The show is such beautiful viewing, apart from the ultra violent parts, yuk.

I don't believe Jimmy and Nucky will ever get "back together". Nucky wouldn't even reconcile with his brother - his own flesh and blood. I still think Jimmy is going down, too.

I don't know. Surely not as long as Nucky doesn't have to but when he does I think he's rational enough.

They'll need each other. Remember the statue Jimmy put away at the beginning of the season. He put it away; he didn't THROW it away. They'll be much more formidable together than they are apart,

i tell you, nucky is baby daddy to jimmy d. it will be revealed during the last episode of this season. any bet takers?

(even though the real life nucky T. did not have children, i feel the BE writers are going to give the twist hoping for another season.)
