Eight Was Too Much... Child Actor Adam Rich - DUI What do you do when you peak at age 10?
Child Star Adam Rich Is Charged With DUI Wed Feb 19, 2:09 PM ET Add Entertainment - AP to My Yahoo! By The Associated Press POMONA, Calif. - Adam Rich, the mop-headed young star of the 1970s TV show "Eight is Enough," was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence. The 34-year-old from Los Angeles was arrested Dec. 18 after California Highway Patrol officers said he drove onto a closed section of Interstate 10 and nearly struck a patrol car. He was charged Tuesday and was to be arraigned Thursday, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said. Officers who puled Rich over in December said he failed a field sobriety test and they smelled the odor of marijuana in his car, although they didn't find the drug. The actor, who was freed on $2,500 bail, told reporters he was pulled over around 2:30 a.m. after he swerved to avoid a highway barricade. He said officers initially let him go but then stopped him again after concluding he wasn't stable enough to drive. Prosecutors said they didn't immediately file charges because they had to wait for results of an additional chemical analysis. They didn't say what Rich was suspected of being under the influence of. The actor played Nicholas, the youngest son of the "Eight Is Enough" Bradford family, on the ABC show from 1977-81. Rich, who said after his arrest he's been sober for 10 years, entered a drug rehabilitation program in 1992 after pleading no contest to felony burglary and drug charges alleging he stole a drug-filled syringe from a hospital and broke into a pharmacy. In 1988, he entered the Betty Ford Clinic for treatment of cocaine addiction. --- I hope he gets his shit together. There's still hope. Look at Danny Bonaducci (Danny Partridge), he's done well after several high profile arrests and convictions. Give 'em a call Danny! |

It's alway the child actors from the 70's and 80's who are always in trouble. I wonder if we will see the little girl, from 7th Heaven, getting busted in 10 years time. | |
