I used to enjoy the filmmaker's work. His eye and wit were incredible. But what his son said about him (several years ago -- he might have reversed himself by now -- time, forgiveness and mortality can do that) resonates with me. His life choices creep me out.

Still, I appreciate his earlier work, especially Zelig, and have long forgiven him for the whole Hazelle-"D.H." thing. His talent and impact as a filmmaker are unquestionable.
