Fruit or...fruits?

I like Gala, Fuji, and green apples. I also love cantaloupe, sweet seedless grapes, and strawberries. I have to lay off pineapple in huge doses, though. Something about the acidic taste burns my mouth and tongue like crazy. I also like oranges when they're sweet and juicy. This year just doesn't seem like a good one, however. It's been hit or miss. We get good oranges, the the next batch will be crucnchy with a bleach-like taste. The last ones we bought (still eating them) turned out to be very tart.

just ate an apple and had a terrible allergic reaction...

apples ...sometimes I prefer strwberries.

Normally I don't really have a favorite fruit but lately I've been all about pears.

To this day I've never had them, and I want to try them. I could try making them myself but I'd prefer to eat some that somebody else who knew what the heck they were doing cooked so I know what they are suppose to taste like.

Those could be some expensive tomatoes, given the price of plane fare and all. I know I'll run into to somebody who knows how to cook them, I have before a few times I just didn't speak up a say 'fix me some' now they're gone out of my life and I missed out, silly me.

I'm telling you. Once you taste them, tell the person you're with to stand back 'cause you'll wanna slap someone! Depending on where you live, some restaurants serve them as an appetizer. Certainly in late July or early August, you should be able to find a restaurant that will serve them. I fry my own. Really very simple, but the tomatoes must be in season or they'll taste like cardboard.
