Rate the last movie you watched

I watched this one again recently:

L'Illusionniste / The Illusionist (2010) - French magician struggles finding work while caring for a young fan who believes his tricks to be real. Amazing animation, but the story is a little thin. starstarstar 1/2

The Change Up - 7/10

It was funny, some parts were a bit predictable though.

London Boulevard (2010) - a dark comedy of a handyman who's stuck between a fading film star and a vicious gang. 3/5

the film worked great for about the first 45 minutes or so, but then so abruptly took such a god awful turn. but that said, it was still worth it for all the hysterical laughs between Keira cursing like a sailor (one of my favorite roles from her), and her incredibly daft self-important manager (David Thewlis).

It was nice, but since when did Jacques Tati ever have a story in his movie? It's all about mood and situations.

it's not that bad but it could have been better. there are some plot holes in it

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Speaking of mood and situations without much story, you should watch this movie:

Interestingly, it's also about a father-daughter relationship.

3/5 a bit slow but I never wanted to FF thru it, loved it's look and learned something I really didn't know since I've never really delved into this story before, it was interesting.

Clint Eastwood can do no wrong it seems. Despite this poster, it's not a Matt Damon movie, but one of those multi-story films that share a connection based on death and what might come after it.

These stories take place all over the world, and are interesting and heartbreaking. It is not always totally believable, but it's just a movie and it's a good one. Even a cynic might find himself swept up in the possibilities of the supernatural.

I saw a great movie called "Pontypool" which is an indie horror movie of such great direction, concept, and acting that it made the movie I saw right before "The Hereafter" seem a bit amateur in those respects.

I saw Hereafter and wasn't very impressed. I want to see this one. Never heard of it but I'll trust you. wink I'm a horror fan and it's difficult to impress me these days.

Drive (2011) - part time Hollywood stunt driver, part time getaway driver for heist operations. a solid 5/5

I expected no less from director Refn. the cast is stellar but while reviews keep talking about Carey Mulligan's scenes with Gosling (which were great), I find his scenes with Christina Hendricks to be the strongest. she was fantastic while she lasted, then again I expected no less from her either.

ps. that jacket from the poster, as well as the hammer scene, I think they'll become pretty iconic with time.
