What we use 911 for in Wisconsin

I can't believe the 911 dispatcher didn't think this was an emergency. disbelief

Woman makes 911 call because husband was leaving bar and taking all the money

Would you call 911 if your husband was leaving the bar and wouldn't give you any money?

Well, a woman did just that early Monday morning in Dodge County.

Dodge County Sheriff Todd Nehls said the 35-year-old woman called 911 at 1:34 a.m. Monday, complaining her husband wanted to leave the unidentified bar they were at, but he wouldn't give her any money, money she claimed was hers.

"With well over 15,000 911 calls answered by Dodge County 911, these unnecessary calls are a drain on resources and could slow an emergency response to those who really are in need and have emergencies," Nehls said in a press release.

Inappropriate use of 911 can result in a fine of up to $300.

"So far this year, the Dodge County 911 center has fielded calls from people wanting to know the hours for trick or treat, when the dump is open, and we even had a young man reporting his grandfather was cheating at cards," Nehls said.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That's it?!?! We're in a severe economic crisis and this really seems like a perfect opportunity to tax the stupid people. That should be tripled at the very least.
