See that's what I'm talking about. Customer Service! Its why I frequent Starbucks more than any other coffee shop. They strive to get your order just right and if they mess it up you are pretty much guaranteed a free coffee. They often don't throw drinks out. Sometimes if they have an order that's unfullfilled they will give it to a customer. I've gotten the hook up many times.

I don't get this American obsession with Starbucks, it's over-priced, corporate and the same boring menus wherever you are?

Don't u guys get bored with uniformity?

Support your local coffee shops instead, you'll get something different and you'll be contributing more to the local economy....rather than just giving it all to some mega corporation...

Yeah I can't drink their regular coffee because it's bitter...I'll hit 7-Eleven or even Panera (their coffee is great).

But the iced white chocolate mocha with whipped cream is da bomb!!! I could have that every damned day. (please hide this post from UpTownNY boxed )

IMO Starbucks has a good product, that is what separates it from McDonalds. Before them, coffee was weak and bland, and they popularized good coffee.

But I agree with you in theory, and recently I had the choice on vacation to go to the mom & pop or the Starbucks. We went to the mom & pop and it was terrible LOL THe next morning we went to Starbucks!

At least with Starbucks you do know what you're getting, and it's not disgusting like fast food.

One man's uniformity is another man's reliability.

I do frequent locally-owned coffee shops when I'm at home. But if I'm traveling, the big thing Starbucks has going for it is consistency and convenience. I know a what a latte is going to taste like at any Starbucks location, anywhere in the world. There's a lot to be said for that. They always have whole milk, too - which I insist on for a latte.

Caribou Coffee is another I'll patronize, if I see one.

I don't do Starbucks or any chain coffee imports over here, but in all the local artisan coffee houses (there's practically one on every corner) I ususally get something like Milchkaffe (the German counterpart to French Cafe Au LAit or Italian Cappucino). Or a Chai spiced tea.

If i ever get anything to munch on it might be a traditional German sweet, so normally something like:

Beeren Schnitte

Vanille-Beeren-Schnitten Rezept

Schwarzwälder Kirchtorte

Produktzusatzinformationen

Apfelkuchen

Steirischer Apfelkuchen

Pflaumenkuchen

IMG_4158-01

...or the Crack Cocaine of German baked sweets... Franzbrötchen

It's similar to a cinnamon roll, but it has the texture of a croissant. Simple and TO DIE.
