When I want coffee I buy bags of it at White Castles. No frills. The thrill of the hot aroma as it tickles my senses. Listening as the coffee pot purrs a simple drip drip. Watching as the coffee pot fills to a dark brown liquid elixar with just the right amount. cloud9 Ahhh. nothing like it on a cold and rainy early morning. Try getting that at star Bucks. HAAH! pat

Pumpkin spice steamer,Thai tea latte or Strawberry creme. I know that many people don't like Starbucks for a variety of reasons, but I love them and will always buy from them. My younger sister has been a Starbucks barrista for over 5 years. This time last year she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. The insurance provided by Starbucks allowed her to get quality treatment with minimal expense to her and the store she worked at let her take as much time as she needed for her testing, surgery and treatment. No questions asked. No threat of losing her job. No pressure to come back quickly. She is completely okay now, just doing routine follow-up and I will be eternally grateful to Starbucks for making a difficult time less stressful for my entire family.

that is wonderful! i like starbucks too, i went the other day with my husband for a mocha frap. they seem like a very good company to work for that cares more for it's employees. biggrin

 Well damn! You really like coffee, huh?!

I have a love/hate relationship with coffee. I can drink it and when I start it's cup after cup but when I'm done and don't have the taste for it anymore, I can go years without drinking it. I haven't had a cup of coffee in a few years and yet I have a coffee maker. I hate seeing other people drink it for some reason. boxed

Chai lattes are my cooler weather go-to; iced green tea lattes my warmer weather. But I'll also do the seasonal lattes to mix things up.

Sweetie hates coffee - but is totally hooked on the chai latte and hot chocolate. He likes that sweet stuff. lol

I don't go there often, I'm not fond of the taste though if I'm in a rush and tea is not strong enough to jolt me awake, I'll get a double espresso

Nothing. They're too damn expensive. I went there once just to see what the fuss was all about. I ordered some type of coffee that had some sort of cocoa or chocolate with some whip cream in it. It was delicious but the damn thing was like five or six dollars. Oh well, at least I can say I went there but too rich for my wallet. lol

But isn't coffee shops in the thread title? What would you get at these really good better than Starbucks places then?

What do I order at THEM = "usually nothing"

IF I do go into a coffee shop it's a local owned one NOT a superwalmart "Starbucks" type shrug

I usually always support small local business ~ not chain stores

For me that = better quality on many levels

If others wanna do Starbucks ~ I really don't care ...it's just not my choice for quality coffee or treats

peace!

VERY true! And better and friendlier service too.

Used to be a big fan of venti white mochas.

I got tired of the chemical taste of the syrups starbucks uses.

Backing away to the realm of actual coffee and am disappointed in the bitterness of Starbucks' brew. So, I'm on the prowl...

I usually just buy a regular coffee and add my own sugar and creamer. Sometimes I treat myself to a frappuccino, I like trying all kinds, just the other day I tried the pumpkin spice one, very good! I will also get their egg white, spinach feta wraps when I don't have time to make my own breakfast biggrin

All at Starbucks of course lol

Starbucks has their own brand of coffee that they sell that you can make yourself. I don't like it. It has a strange taste that tastes bitter to me. The cup I had in the shop was good because it was doctored up with chocolate and whip cream and I couldn't taste the bitterness. My coworker buys a bag of Starbucks and mixes the bag with Folgers and it's tolerable. I prefer just regular old Community Coffee but it's expensive so I usually end up buying Folgers.

I go to Starbucks occassionally when I go visit a friend (former co-worker) and there happens to be a SB nearby that's open 'til 1:00am.

I order an iced White Chocolate Mocha Latte and we shot the breeze 'til the wee hours of the night.

There used to be a small private coffee shop near my old place that had excellent coffee and desserts. Unfortunately, they closed by 9:00pm so anytime the ex & I were in the mood for coffee (after a movie for example) they were closed.

confused

Not surprisingly they went out of business.

For my daily fix, I get coffee from 7-Eleven (don't laugh, I like it better than Dunkin Donuts coffee whoch everyone else swears by).

Sometimes I hit a Columbian bakery on the way in, that has amazing coffee. drool

I miss Community Coffee. nod It's one of a few things from Louisiana that I miss the most. But for reasons that I don't understand, they don't ship Community Coffee in Arkansas at all! disbelief
