Just finished the exhibition catalogue for the Maurizio Cattelan retrospective "All" at the Guggenheim.

I need something else to read but I've been in a rut lately; nothing is really piqueing my interest.

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Well, at least I'm trying to get through it but it doesn't seem to hold my attention.

I'm probably going to leave it and just re-read 'The Godfather' instead nod

I'm a member of paperbackswap.com - it's a website where you can trade books for free (you just pay media mail postage) and I just requested EM Forster's A Room With a View. I have about 90 books on my wish list but no one seems to have them available for trade. pout I guess art criticism and French history books are not very popular. lol

I am listening to this book on cd right now

The second in the series

It's entertaining and interesting for his insights into modern politcs, but I would never guess that this was the same author as the Ender series, it is much more like Tom Clancy or Clive Cussler.

It's almost worth just reading the tidbits at the beginning of the chapters, because he is clearly an educated and interesting guy, but not the greatest book.

i'm no literary critic but imo these books are charming and quite well written.

Yes, I love this series too. Not exactly great literature, but as you say, they are charming and well written. I enjoy all the characters and look forward to the next installment.

nod I almost finished reading it.

And this was the last one I read. Needless to say, a completely different experience. Quite a challenging concept, but somehow unsatisfying in the end.
