I share who I am with my daughter, and she has experienced Prince music, etc...since her conception. It's only natural that she does. I grew up with my mom playing Charlie Pride, Nat King Cole, Elvis, etc...she too loved music.

My main goal is to build a firm foundation on which she will build her life. Education, the ability to think and reason, as well as to be comfortable with who she is.

I love kids but think that hell would freeze over before gay people were allowed to adopt in the UK but thats completely another matter...

I think that I would more than likely be strict,teach them love and respect of oneself and towards others

I'd do bizarre experiments on them - and paint their rooms disorientating psychadelic patterns, with constant loop of clown laughter and backwards animal cries on a speaker system.

I will be a great dad. My parents really were there for the first 5 or 10 years then I was on my own. This is not the right way and I've made it a point to make a right wherever they made a left.

And they'd be exposed to lots of great music, great books, great videogames, and lots of great comedy.

The only thing is, if I ever have kids, the amount of hiphop I listen to will lead them to believe that they are actually from Compton or the Bronx or something. Instead of Ireland.

i don't think i'd be a strict mom. i'd probably be firm but fair. plus, the poor kid will have to sit though billy's (when i was your age...) stories so that's enough punishment.

I would be a great mom! Not to strict, not to lenient.

I would teach them about consequences, and choices in life.

I teach them to be the best they could possibly be without pressuring them. And i would start that at birth.

And of course, I would hope that they would see education as a challenge.

Yes I have and I'm raising them just like my parents raised their kids(strict yet very loving)2 be Proud muslim, black, God fearing, honest, giving, good kids. I could care less about what they hear(as long as it doesn't hurt their intellegence). But hey lol my kids already crazy about Prince and could live without Bow Wow, Lil' Romeo, B2K and Ashanti. So, thats a relief.

Yeah cute baby YAMOMMA... you are right, start them on the funk while they are young! To think of all those early years I wasted just shitting and puking and crying when I could have have been grooving...!

By the way... no disrespect to parents here who feel otherwise... but if I have kids I will not ever raise a hand to them. I know many parents would see spanking as a necessity, but there has to be a better way.

I would be a very strict parent, no crying in stores, running around tearin-up shit and most of all being sassy to me, they would get their little butt spanked, I know it sounds cruel but that's the way I was brought-up.
