I'm shocked at how desensitized audiences are towards gore and violence now. I won't be watching this for sure, and didn't bother watching the first one. But I think the new film was beautifully shot from seeing the trailer.

I was watching Alien the other day, my favorite movie of all time. And it struck me that I used to be absolutely horrified by the movie. It scared the bejessus out of me. But if I were to show my nephew (who had been watching orcs get slain by hobbits since they were 5 years old), they would more or less find the movie Alien midly interstersing but nothing more.

I sadly am hardly shocked by anything after watching actual beheading and gore videos... not to mention movies like Salo, August Underground & the dumbass Serpian Film.

While even sick movies like Salo actually have a point to them... movies like this & Serpian Film, August Underground, Guinea Pig etc. Are trash..... there doing nothing more then to try to gross people out any which way they can.

When i was in film school recently, this kid Tay... he was infamous in our school. Because he liked to watch the nastiest, sickest, most depraved films. He also got off on watching woman being raped[he also has never had a gf ] He even threatened to rape my friend Kelsy and besides getting a near ass kicking from me & some of the guys[and gals] at my school nothing was done about it.. besides him being suspended.

Any who my point is, when i see movies like this or the others mention i think of him, and how he always wanted to make the sickest movies ever... that is what these directors do, waste there talent trying to make trash so they can be known for having this sick, depraved movie.

I think it's dumb & not artistic at all...

Put HC2 in this category because it's exactly that. The only movies that were ever hard for me to get through was Salo & Irreversible [both for obvious reasons]. But other than that, I can watch anything. but I guarantee quite a few will be grossed out by HC2....

As long as something is not exploitative just for the sake of being exploitative that's ok with me. It has to be tied to the art. The first Saw film for example, sure it has some challenging stuff in it, but it was still a great film...a very smart script, well made, well acted, etc

I always saw 'Sister' as a tongue in cheek fun and sung just for shock value...but some of these films are just depraved, i mean the whole idea of the human centipede is just absolutely sick don't u think?!?!

It's out on DVD here sometime later this month! First it was banned because it was too graphic or something.

I'm planning on getting the DVD though. Not because I actually enjoy the film, I'm just curious, I've read some of the plot and it sounds outrageous.

I found the first one disgusting at parts but through most of it I couldn't take it seriously, so if I ever do see the 2nd one, I don't think I'd be scarred for life or anything.
