Whoever makes Compaq computers needs to pull their head out of their ass long enough to either make a decent computer or to apologize to all the suckers like myself who bought one. Cripes, I'm even considering a Mac. Now thats some serious shit.

All I want to do is scan a damn spectra so I can give my students a decent quiz tomorrow, and then watch the Daily Show. I'm still fighting with the damn scanner, since my POS computer can't seem to handle much more than a game of hearts without grinding to a complete halt! Now I have to keep working while Jon Stewart, my hero, is on TV, so that my students are not disappointed tomorrow when I show up without a quiz. I really was not meant to get anything constructive done tonight.

Oh my goodness I can't believe what I'm reading. I've been using Compaq for many years and today I got into it with them. They pissed me off for the first time today in 4 years and then I see this thread.

I'm glad someone else agrees with me. I had a problem with my computer today so I called for the first time and they wanted to charge me $39.99 to tell me to push one button. I told them they must be outta their minds and I'm just going to chunk my computer and buy something else rather than compaq/Hewlett. I also told them I'll ask someone else for help and he made sure to let me know that I'll be charged at least $60. else where. I then responded by telling him he doesn't know me and doesn't know who I know. I then ask him if he could believe I actually have friends that could fix the problem for me for free. He had an attitude and it was the first time I ever got so upset with someone over the phone.

COMPAQ SUCKS!!!

lol Compaq makes one of the crappiest pc's around. Part of the reason Dell is kicking their ass

tehe...the Compaq design is nice, but compared to other computers, it takes forever to start up, it acts up too much, and the company makes you pay for too many programs you don't even need, as compared to other computers from what I've noticed...I might just go for an Apple very soon...

Gateway always scared me for some reason, thanks for the confirmation Matt I'm going Dell when I upgrade, which is hopefully soon!

I fixed mine all by myself yesterday without the help of sorry Compaq!!! I can tell you right now my next computer will be a dell without. I once used HP but had issues with it as well and promised to never use them again.
