In Living Color Comes Back to Fox?!

October 29, 2011

Fox is looking to bring back the hit sketch comedy series In Living Color, by ordering two half-hour specials which may lead to a new series.

The specials will air during the network's 25th anniversary celebration in mid-season, with series creator Keenen Ivory Wayans returning as host and executive producer. If the shows do well, the network may order a revamped version of the show, with an all new cast.

In Living Color debuted in April 1990 and ran for five seasons on Fox. The show broke new ground for a network comedy show, constantly pushing the envelope of who and what can be skewered on TV.

The show launched the careers of several comedic talents such as Jim Carrey, Damon Wayans, David Alan Grier, Tommy Davidson, andJamie Foxx. Jennifer Lopez was also one of the "Fly Girls," who performed dance routines between the sketches and commercial breaks.

Exact air dates weren't given for these In Living Color specials, and it isn't known if any original cast members will return for cameo appearances.

I just heard it on the radio, but I was half listening, so I thought they meant reruns.

It was a great show then... revamped it should be awsome. They came up with some funny skits! I loved it way better than SNL.

Sounds good. Hopefully it lives up to predecessor. Major talent came from that show.

This is just TV's way of trying to save a dying medium. There is hardly anything on commerical TV these days and what is good, is usually on cable. You all go head and watch, I'll break out my "Living Color", DVD's, with the original cast.

For a fact Damon Wayans Jr would not be on the tv show, he is currently on Happy Endings and he discontinued to play a role on "The New Girl" because of his obligations.

I think the anniversary specials will be amazing however a new tv show altogether? Nah I don't want to see the shows legacy ruined.

Since Fox is considered a "Republican Network".....they probably think this is the best way to sway Black voters to vote Republican.....They are probably saying to themselves......see we can't be racist....we have a Black television show on our network. falloff

It will never be as good as the original....how could it be. He will never find good replacements for that original cast.....you'll never find other jim carrey. I will watch it..... but it ain't going to last....probably 3 episodes before it gets canceled.... I wish them luck.

The show NEVER should have left the air-waves PERIOD.....It was oooozing with talent....The show will be a HIT if they find the right cast...Sometimes you just can't do a REPEAT-show of what was once GREATNESS...

CBS tried with "Cosby" and it just didnt work....CBS also tried it with "The Golden Girls" and it just didnt work....Sometimes you gotta let it go and be thankful for your place in history...

I will still watch all the same...I Love the Wayans Family and will give any show they produce a chance...

I have a feeling it won't be the same. I think the networks should just stick to coming up with new ideas instead of trying to bring the old ones back. Look what happened with "Charlie's Angels".

It will probably be a hit and miss just like Saturday night live. If there smart they will bring back some original cast members or even some MAD tv cast members.
