There's no point in preparing for an end that might happen in about a year.

Your personal end may come tomorrow.

All you can do is make sure that the ones you love know you love them, and try to be kind to others and make the world a better place.

We're all worm food in the end.

Nothing will happen so I'm not preparing for anything....not that I would prepare if this silly prediction were to be true.

the hell? how old are U? biggrin

don't worry, we'll be still here, even after 2012, lol

Obama knows the truth...if the earth was truly going to explode (or at least the surface), he wouldn't bother with the re-election, and in Europe nobody would give a damn about the fragile condition of the Euro, lol

I don't like saying my age on here (even though I've said a few times before) I keep thinking that people will just assume that I know nothing. lol

I'm 14 on Friday.

Yeah, wasn't the world meant to 'end' in May this year too? rolleyes

lol

I'm sure if you do enough research you'll find someone predicted the world would end every month for the last 2000 years.

just the end of our current time cycle which may or may not bring about cataclysmic change

THIS

As I understand it, the Mayans thought that around this time the world would go into a new phase. Already happening.

I think that the main difference and cataclysmic change will be that the world of tomorrow is so intertwined, so connected, that we cannot permit ourselves any longer to pretend that we are in control alone, or can do it all by ourselves (by country, or group of countries or people).

What will change I think on a global mental level, is that we do need eachother, to solve our very real and immense problems. Talking about climate change then, oil and gas running out, food and water shortages, epidemics, technology partly taking over and subsequent wars related to all that.

We will be forced to learn that we have to act less selfish and more for the sake of the entire world, in order to survive.

I am preparing for the end by madly pursuing an end to my celibacy. I don't want to go out wishing that I enjoyed men more often. Right now that would be one of my greatest regrets.

If it is truly the end then I am 'ret ta go. I have done pretty much everything I have wanted to do. I've fallen in love, I've travelled to another country, I've gone to college, I've had children, I've survived in this world with no one taking care of me.

Considering that none of us are promised another day and it is truly the end, there is nothing we can do about it so why stress?

Absolutely. I tell the people I care about I love them regularly and also show them with my actions.

I admit I could do better in regards the rest of the world, but I've got my own shit to deal with at the moment, at least I'm not making it any worse. Hopefully!

if the end happens, and according to what happened to the mayan people of the classic empire, we will just "disappear", leaving the empty buildings and the surface for the animals to conquer...

It could end tomorrow and other than not wanting life to be over, I’d be fine.

I’ve traveled quite a bit, I have few regrets and my friends and family all know I love them.

The Mayan calendar was designed to be cyclical, so the fact that the long count comes to an end in December 2012 is really of no consequence. Simply, it is the end of a great calendar cycle in Mayan society, much like our modern society celebrated the new Millennium. It does not mean that the 'world will end' In fact, the Mayan calendar does not end then and there is no evidence to suggest that the Mayans, or anyone for that matter, has knowledge for the world's demise.

Back on Topic.

Nope I am not ready, I have accepted that I will die and the end of my Mortal self is the only certainty left in my life, but I am in no way gonna sit around waiting for the Reaper to knock on my Door, that Mofo is going to have to chase my ass down biggrin biggrin

Life is short, don't be a dick.

You know how it goes; Jesus won't come back to Earth until we are all so bad he just can't stay away any longer. The badder we are the faster we get to the end of this show and on to the next one.

Well, that happened to the Mayans earlier than predicted, didn't it?

I welcome everybody who's coming over for a cocktail, btw. Would be fun to end it all with a good party!

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
