The first cup of coffee usually puts me to sleep (ironically). The second cup is the "picker-upper". I sometimes drink a cup at night to relax me, but when this backfires, I'm up past waaay past my bedtime.

There's always a filled cup o' coffee on my desk, and it's replaced before it's empty.
Switch to water and tea in the afternoon, though. Gotto get rid of the coffee-poison then...

You sound like the guy who's sitting accross to me. We drink about 10 cuos each in the morning and then he switches to water. But I often forget and get him coffe, which I have to drink as well then, so in the afternoon I'm loaded with coffee.

We have this nice little program called the "Cofee Manager". It runs on the company network and whenever you feel like having a coffee, you can open it and click 'Another round of coffee'. Then the other people who are in the same 'coffee-group, get a pop-up asking them if they want some coffee too. If so, they select what they want and the program selects the person who has to go and get the coffee this time for himself and the others.
The one selected to get it, then gets a screen, showing who wants which coffee.

I used to drink gallons of coffee a day, as strong as
possible.

But since I've learned that it leaches calcium from
your body, I've been cutting back.

Around about 4 or 5 cups a day now.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

Fucking work. I quit drinking coffee back in October during a 9 day yogi cleanse. It was easier to give up than I expected, and I felt great.

Then I started working full-time in January. Ouch. I'm back up to 3 cups a day. And while I know there are bad effects to be had -- I have to say I love me my coffee!!!
.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark

In all honesty.. I've probably had about 2 cups of coffee in my entire life...

Seriously.. eek

I avoid it not because of its effects on me.. but just because it tastes terrible, waaay too bitter! (for my taste buds anyway!)

I don't quite get the love for it... but yeah... we all get our fix from somewhere... I'm glad coffee is there for those who need and love it. smile

i've always wondered if there were consequences to too much coffee intake. what else besides robbing our calcium does it do?

It uses water from your body to digest. For every cup of coffee, you have to drink a cup of water too.

I've been sober for almost a year now mr.green

I used to drink about 5 to 6 mugs in the morning at work between the hours of 8 - 10 in the morning and that's it, for some reason I just couldn't drink anymore.

Well one morning I decided to stop at a store and get a sandwich on the way to work and I decided to get a bottle of water. Well now I haven't had a drop of coffee in about a year if not longer and I feel great, but now I drink about 10 to 12 bottles of water a day, I'm addicted to that pure stuff nuts
