I just had a homemade salad for the first time in 3 days [I made myself], & my goodness was it friggin good!

Mine had roman lettuce, hard-boiled eggs, tuna, cherry tomatoes, bacon bits, mushrooms, cucumbers, with raspberry dressing[mix with a little ranch]. it may not have been the "Bestest salad in the whole wide world", but by golly-gee, it did the job.

What are some of your favorite things to put your salad?

Beetroot or coleslaw. I need something damp in my salad.

I'm more basic with my salads lol

Hmmmm... yeah, dressing is ok. But I have issues with dressing. It's usually in a large bottle and has a short use-by date, so I usually end up throwing most of it away. I do like dressing though and it's usually just a welcome change when I have salad at a restaurant or something. It's also nice to have the chunks that beetroot or coleslaw gives.

BTW, I really like those bacon bots too. Yummy.

kalmatta olives

boiled egg (sliced)

I'm flexible with the dressing. It can either be a vinegrette or something creamy.

I thought this was another sex thread. I am somewhat relieved it isn't cuz my understanding is that tossing salad has to do with pouring maple syrup on a person's bum hole and sucking the shitty aunt jemima juice out.

My salad with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions, & black olives. Sometimes I'll add chicken OR fish (salmon, herring, sardines, or tuna). My dressing of choice is light mayo made with olive oil instead of soybean oil & canola oil.

What I like (non-vegetarian):

bake small potatoes (in Holland we call them 'krieltjes') goldenbrown. Then sprinkle them with cajun herbs ("Cajun Kruiden" in Dutch). In another pan, marinade chickenbreast (diced) in soy souce. Bake chicken until the soysauce caramelizes. Then simply take lettuce, croutons, cucumber (diced) and mix everything up. At the end you add only a little olive oil.

God I'm hungry

I make all kinds of salads... I am a "what do I have to toss in this lettuce?" type person..

but since its the fall... I love to slice up pears and apples, crumble blue cheese, crushed almonds/walnuts -unsalted, homemade seasoned croutons and toss it all in a bed of Romain or a spring mix.

I can go with or without dressing... with that one its usually a raspberry vinaigrette.

I also like to grill chicken/steak, croutons, shredded carrot, grape tomato, thinly sliced red onion and roasted bell pepper.

^^^ blue cheese/ranch optional

Sometimes I do Cobb salad, sometimes it sun-dried tomato, roasted pepper, mozzarella balls... NO DRESSING.

My kids HATE tomatoes, so if I do any tomato its just for me.

God, I hate salad! But, I know they are healthy so I need to start forcing myself to eat more of them. You have all inspired me to go find some salad to toss tomorrow.

Yes.

I live on salad since I can't eat gluten or dairy. It's a good thing I can't get enough of the stuff ... especially chicken salads, oh baby

Anything goes -- grapes, avocado, cucumber, tomato, asparagus, goat feta, spring onion, red onion, hardboiled egg, mandarin, pumpkin, kumara .. the list is endless

Personally I love using balsamic vinegar as dressing - especially in mediteranean salads (cucumber, feta, tomato, avocado, red onion)

This thread has me all types of hungry right now
