I'm sure you're all aware of the flooding happening in Thailand. If not, check out the news.

Fauxie hasn't been online for over 3 weeks and he and his wife have been unreachable by phone. (Imago has been texting and trying to call.)

Imago found out the area his house is in in Bangkok is flooded.

It's likely he and family headed for higher ground some time ago and are just out of area for calls. But let's give all our positive thoughts to ensure his and his family's safety, not to mention all the people of Thailand affected by this.

Thank you for updating us... bad news, and I am sorry to hear this.

I really hope they are ok. There are elderly and children in their family. I hope we hear from him soon.

I've tried calling each day since you gave me his number.

I either get a strange sounding signal or a message that tells me that "it is not possible to reach the number you are dialing," which indicates cancelation or idle service.

I've been reduced to emailing Thai friends of Mon from her facebook page to see if they will respond to me, but they may be facing problems of their own.

The flood waters have reached places you've actually been to, Carrie.

We stood on grounds in Ayuttaya in spots where the water would have been 5 to 10 feet over the tops of our heads.

Luckily, it hasn't rained in the last 3 days (a relief after the last 2 months). And, I live on the 14th floor of my building, so I'm in no real danger.

But I'm pretty worried about Nick and Mon.

Anybody who wishes to help out with the flood effort, your donations would be hugely helpful--your dollars go a very long way in Thailand, and any bit helps. Most of the people (almost ALL of the people as a matter of fact) are poor or struggling families to begin with, and the welfare program here is inadequate to meet some of the more basic needs of its people.

Positive thoughts for Nick and Mon.

I hope they are safe .

I'm really hoping that the no-service message when trying to reach their phones is a good sign. Meaning, their phones just aren't working because of the disaster as opposed to the phones are ringing and they aren't answering.

Please be ok, Nick and Mon and the lovely family that you take such good care of!

I know that you guys (Dan or Carrie) will keep us posted if you hear anything.
