Is My NOOK Touch better than Genesia's KINDLE? OK, So I finally couldn't stand it anymore. I buy a couple of books monthly and that amounts to a pile of books over a period of time, but I can't fly or travel with a ton of books on hand.
So, finally I broke down and got a Nook Touch. But the problem is that Thais don't read--I mean, really--they don't. There's no market for e-readers in this country. To misquote Chris Rock, Books are like crytonite to a Thaigga.
So, because I have a world wide reach, given my obvious international mystique and ubiquitous world influence, I'm having one specially flown to me by an individual who's soul mission in life is to get me that device in my hand by the first week of November.
OK OK...My mom is vacationing in Thailand, felt sorry for me, and bought one and is going to give it to me while she spends her holiday here.
But I digress, does my Nook Touch not completely devistate Genesia's Kindle or what?

Pretty much anything Nook (color) is better than anything kindle.
I mean, it's a matter of personal taste.

Personal taste. My boyfriend loves his Kindle. I'm sure he wouldn't mind a Nook, but he'd just end up reading 2 books at one time.
I don't fuck with that shit, doe.

I don't have a Kindle. I have a NOOK. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Well at the very least...like any other thread it went downhill & sexual rather quickly.
Not a wasted thread I suppose.

which one translates imago's posts to the correct spelling? that's the one I'd go with....

How does this work exactly? We are backwards here in Holland, nobody has these things. What are the prices for ebooks? Can you also buy science books (normally expensive as hell), papers from journals, etc. relatively cheaply and read them on these things? Can you upload pdf's?

Ebooks for 'hard-cover' are generally 1.50 to 2.00 bucks cheaper than paper copies.
For paperbacks, they are about a dollar to 1.50 cheaper (but sometimes even less).
The prices vary, but I would imagine that if you buy alot of books a year, your savings would cover the cost of the ebook reader in the first year. ( readers go for $99 bucks now )
