Get an iPhone 4S, that is.

The particulars: I'm wall-to-wall Mac user who has never had an iPhone because I didn't want to switch to AT&T, which has almost no service along the rural route I take to and from work every day. This is the first opportunity I've had to get an iPhone on Verizon - because the contract on my current Droid phone hadn't expired.

While I don't care for my current Droid phone (an HTC Eris - which worked fine initially, but whose performance went straight into the crapper with an OS update in 2010), I'm afraid that the 4S will be outdated as soon as I buy it because it isn't a 4G phone.

Then again, I wonder whether I really need 4G. I'm not a heavy data user, by any stretch. (I'd be signing up for the smallest data package available on the iPhone.) And, from what I hear, 4G just sucks the battery like mad.

So he'p me out here!

My recommendation is to wait for the iPhone 5 next year if you can wait.

The 4s is a beautiful phone, and I'm impressed by Siri, but I do think it was an 'in-between' product on the way to iPhone 5.

From those I know that have got it the consensus is it's not worth it if it's going to cost you to upgrade.

I would fucking marry my 4, if it were legal here. Agree w/imag that the 5's probably worth waiting for, but that's most likely at least a year away. Not a coincidence that iPhone users' satisfaction ratings are off the chart.

In short: I cannot recommend this product highly enough (and I am a fussy bitch).

Although Macs are gorgeous and great machines, I don't own one and am certainly no "fanboy". So, you can believe me when I say that the iPhone kicks sand in all the other smartphone's faces at the beach.

Howard Stern (who, as some of you may know, I am slightly a fan of :ahem:) was a huge BlackBerry guy. Had them for years. Swore he couldn't deal with the iPhones virtual keyboard, etc.

Long story short:

Eventually went to an Android and, then, an iPhone 4. Once he got used to the keyboard (which doesn't take very long at all), he realized that the iP is vastly superior to anything else out there. And Howard is a fussier bitch than even I am.

Nope! My ferritin level went from 9 to only 17 after 4 months on iron tablets which I couldn't absorb, normal range is 30-300

I have the shitiest of shitty phones from samsung (although the reviews all said it was ok) and the battery lasts like 30 min max, if I do anything on the internet the battery life is about 10 minutes and the worse thing is its only 4 months old so if I upgrade again I gotta pay an arm and a leg

Part of me wants to just suck it up and pay and get a quality phone but I dont know if theres anything else out there that I should be looking at besides an iPhone? Im done paying for mid-range quality phones. Im just gonna pay top dollar and spare myself constant headaches from using crap.

See, that's the thing. I know that if I get one, I'm gonna lurrrrrvvvve it. I just hope it's enough to keep me from kicking myself if the 5 comes out 10 minutes from now (which seems to be the refresh cycle on these things).
