Damn what's Chalky going to do? Is it just me or was his wife kind of putting him down at the dinner table in front of the guest? I mean yeah he was drunk but I think she kind of added fuel to the fire with her words.

Jimmy better watch out before Angela starts to fall in love with Richard because he's paying her the attention she craves from Jimmy.

And is Nelson about to be found out?

Can't wait for next week!!! Loving this season thus far!!!!!!

Very good episode!!! And I agree Margaret is slick as hell and Chalky's wife was out of line!

Also, did you notice William Forsythe making a guest appearance? I was thinking that Jimmy's charater was probably based on "Sammy The Bull" and then William Forsythe pops up! Of course William played Sammy in the HBO "Gotti" movie. I think it was sort of a wink to fans....

And I was thinking the exact same thing!!!! I think she either supplied the maid with the poison or had something to do with it. It was too convenient how Nucky just dismissed that incident without punishing the maid, so I knew something was up with that, even back then.

But yeah, Gillian finally got her revenge by slapping the Commodore repeatedly. I wonder how old she was when he raped her....or was Jimmy actually conceived during the rape?

And ahh man I felt like Chalky should had done more than he did at that dinner table. And yes I did notice what his son did, but I thought he was going to teach him a lesson later but it didn't happen. But when his wife was putting him down in front of the young man.... I mean really, are they forgetting where the money to keep up that nice house and for food and clothing is coming from??? It seems like they are ashamed of Chalky, yet they "tolerate" him...which is kind of sad. But what in the heck was he doing in the shed at the end? Looks like he was sharpening something???

- Margaret is becoming an unlikeable character. She can't decide whether she's jealous or contemptuous towards the young maid.

- Chalky is very different from Omar Little, because he feels a sense of authority and duty in the community. But in some ways they are the same because no one around them can really understand what they're experiencing. Not even his wife. His "arc" in this last episode was very Tony Sopranoesque.

- Gillian is too dense to realize she's setting herself up for a fall.

- Jimmy's in over his head as well. The new client in Philly will deal with him now that the stash is kaput and he's out 5k.

- The scene with Jimmy's wife and sidekick was the best of the season. You can tell where it's headed.

And Richard is so fascinating. Great character as well. Maybe he'll make advances towards her, gets turned down and snaps? We'll see!

I interpreted that as the son trying to cover for Chalky. He knows Chalky is illiterate, but the youngest daughter clearly doesn't. Not that the son's attempt to avoid having Chalky fake understanding his daughter's homework made Chalky feel any better.

yeah, i watched the show last night. seemingly nucky (played by steve buscemi) is not sweating his current situation. his brother eli is another story. i've still yet to figure margaret schroeder out. however this chic's got some calculating intelligence. like when she got nucky's ledger and then the gun thingy last night. when she held a rifle on eil. i'm all shewwww, and surprised. she came to nucky's rescue. 'cause eli was getting ready to take him out. even though the rifle was empty, margaret played out the bluff convincingly!

at the beginning of the first season, i thought steve buscemi would not be able to carry out his portrayl of nicholas thompson successfully. however now i think differently about him.

imo, steve buscemi deserves kudos for being a very courageous and successful actor.

by today's standards of male handsomeness steve is no where near the center of that circle. it's like he's admired for his mental strength and adroit acting skills.

if asked, i give him as an actor. remember him as tony blundetto in the 'sopranos'? that's when i first really noticed him.
