It's called EGO! I live in a 1 bedroom/den condo. I could afford a bigger, splashier place, but we chose not to. The extra money we have goes towards our savings and travel.

You have to be continually earning mega big bucks to pay for and maintain a home like this. It's too bad these folks don't buy homes they can actually afford

Exactly.Too many celebrities live beyond their means.Instead of buying a nice, modest home that they can actually afford, they decide that they need huge, sprawling mansions. They wrongly assume that they're always gonna be making big bucks. How long has it been since Chris Tucker had a successful movie?

YES great point. Same with athletes. They make a fortune, but it might only be for a few years. That has to last the rest of their lives.

the problem wasn't so much livin beyond his means,

he stopped doin the thing that got him paid in the first place.

not so unlike prince and his music, he decided that religion

was more important than his art, and that choosin religion

over vulgarity in comedy, the lawd would 'look out fo that ass'.

he chose not to do FRIDAY a second time

and thought RUSH HOUR was down that same path.

i heard he's back to doin STANDUP

which may be a means to an end.

i am KING BAD!!!
you are NOT...

that may be true (I don't know anything about Chris or his religion), but show business is unpredictable, you can't just assume you'll keep getting paid even if you do want to do Friday or Rush Hour. They might decide to use Will Smith's kid instead

Gosh, that explains it. So, he had the same attitude when you met him twice?

Big time. My cousin and I kind of slipped the door man some money and cut right thru the long ass line of ticket holders outside, so we were one of the first into the Palladium. Walking across the dance floor and here comes Tucker towards us. We made eye contact and my cousin and I did the head nod "What's up" and I said "Love ya, man". There was no one else there and he no doubt heard us but walked on as if we didn't exist. Later he was up in the balcony with Eddie Murphy and everyone downstairs was trying to get their attention. Eddie waved and blew kisses but Tucker wouldnt even look down on us lowly folk. While Eddie was saying hi, Tucker was checking his phone or whatever, trying to look busy. I mean, people were calling his name...no way he didnt hear. He could have at least said hi.

Then he was in the booth right next to us at Roscoe's. Now me and my cousin were like "Fuck that ni**a!" but we were still a little in awe of him. He made eye contact a dozen times but acted as if he was the only one in the restaurant. Did it to everyone, not just us.

I know celebs want and do deserve some privacy, but a hello, a headnod, something for your fans is not too much to ask.

Some celebrities forget that their fans has a lot to do with where they are in the first place. Then you have some celebrities that don't, like Eddie Murphy for an example. Remember Foxy Brown. My mother and niece saw her at DMV in NYC, and wanted to chat with her. They said she has an horrible attitude. I remembered one year when she had an album signing, and I heard even police officers in the street talking about how horrible she was, and why she had to be there. Where's her career now? shrug

It must be easier said then done because far too many wealthy folks keep falling in the same boat, with a lot of miss management of funds, I wonder what the issue is.

i think the tinseltown lifestyle must be harsh. it takes real $$$$$ to support that movie star lifestyle and most actors/actresses believe that having "made" it once in the Big Time they will always continue to do so.

do any of them ever say to themselves "this is probably my one big break, i'd best save the money i just earned and keep living modestly".? doubt it. i think that rather, they tell themselves "i'm in the big leagues now. i have to spend $$$$ to live up to my newfound movie star status."

poor things. rose

I still don't get WHY these Entertainers don't just buy a nice home out-right instead of paying those High-ass mortgage payments for a Multi-million dollar home they can't afford...

Let's do the math...Chris took home $25-Millionfor the last Rush hour Flick...After Taxes and everybody he had to pay he probably walked away with a Good $10 to $15 million...That means he should not have set his eyes on a Damn $6-Million dollar house....

He had PLENTY of cash to buy a home or have one built that wouldn't break-him....

Nicolas Cage is in the same boat. The DIFFERENCE is Nick Cage is still geting roles and Chris ain't..Nick is taking ANYTHING & EVERYTHING to pay for all those houses he bought all over the globe...

cosign. I'm sure a lot of them are just like other americans too, it makes better financial sense to just STOP paying sometimes. Even though their total debt is way higher. Would you keep paying on that 10 million dollar loan if the home you bought is now only worth 2.5 million?

Say what you want about me, but I wouldn't. talk to the hand

His problem is that he never does movies. Besides Friday and the Rush Hours he's got like maybe 3 more movies hes been in.

That's a good question. I don't think he'd have a problem finding a promoter. He can book himself on a few of the Late Night shows and the radio shows..I think a Comedy Concert tour could work for him. This "bad publicity" can be used for "good"...

Jackie Chan is still making MEGA Millions in his homeland..I'm sure he's contacted Chris...

This is probably retaliation by the Ashkenazi for Chris' relationship with Michael Jackson (as MJ was outspoken about his criticism of Zionists in the record industry).

Just a thought. smile

Nicolas is also a white male actor who has wisely kept his political views to himself, a huge plus if you want to have a career in the entertainment industy.

As for a Michael Jackson connection, Nicolas once dated (and married?) Michael's ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley. But I don't think pro-Zionists are going to hold that against him! lol

This situation of "finances" has nothing do to with Skin Color. We can discuss "race" as a separate issue on "Hollywood"...There are Many Black & White Celebs managing their money and doing quite well...

Chris & Nick are simply 2 Celebs that have had BIG pay days and have ended up in debt with creditors..This is not about "race" and ALL about the "GREEN"...

And yet, Nicolas is the one that has been given plenty of second chance opportunities to redeem himself. Chris? Not hardly.

What are you talking about? This is the FIRST negative publicity Chris has gotten since he blew up years ago...The only thing he's done in recent years is declare his "faith"...

Nobody cares when Celebs are in a world of Financial debt. The MEDIA just LOVES to report it..
