Yesterday, I was talking to someone [a women] about hair, & she brought up how she didn't like certain hair-do's & styles. She obviously didn't know the proper names for the hairstyles whatsoever, & I was correcting her & filling in the blanks.
Next thing you know, She was trying to insinuate that I may be "suspect"/gay for knowing too much about hair. This was hilarious to me, because she had no clue That my Grandmother, Mother, & 3 of her female siblings were [& still] Beauticians. My grandmother ran her own Hair salon for a few decades, & I pretty much grew up in hair salons. My mother still does hair today, & therefore I tend to know a lot more about hair than the average straight guy [I guess ].
I know about lacefronts, pieces, fusions, & all that shit just because my mom points stuff out/shows me this stuff [I even know about quite a few different hair weaving techniques too]. I can pretty much pinpoint synthetic hair [even on female & male celebrities] & everything....
So is it "gay" for a straight man to know all about this stuff? I personally think it's a stereotype [but i could be wrong].....

Stop socializing with women who are not Prince fans and you won't have this problem. Think about it. If they can believe that Prince is 100% straight then they will never think differently of you. [Edited 10/13/11 23:00pm] There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin. |

Did you read why I know so much? & how it is "Gay"? [Edited 10/13/11 22:52pm] Just so I'm not misunderstood - I'm actually 100% gay myself... I'm not dissing gays I'm just saying that that is how a lot of average people look at things.. It's frustrating but true... |

I'm gay and know nothing about hair "...and If all of this Love Talk ends with Prince getting married to someone other than me, all I would like to do is give Prince a life size Purple Fabric Cloud Guitar that I made from a vintage bedspread that I used as a Christmas Tree Skirt." Tame, Feb |
