I have a Blackberry, but I'm smartfone stupid.

It's a cross platform group messaging app.

They were all the rage last year, with several of these types of apps popping up on Android, iOS and Blackberry. I installed and tried them all, and ended up sticking with WhatsApp, as that's where I seem to have the most friends on.

But some of these apps include:

WhatsApp

LiveProfile

KIK

GroupMe (has been acquired by Skype)

Beluga (got acquired by Facebook and integrated into FB Messenger)

KakaoTalk

PingChat

ChatOn (developed by Samsung and just launched)

Disco (was being developed by Slide which Google acquired, but now the Slide team have left Google)

Plus, the rumor is that BBM (which currently is exclusive to Blackberry) may soon become cross-platform in order to compete, and an Android version will soon be available. This seems to me like a shot in the foot for RIM because there's a LOT of people for whom BBM is literally the ONLY reason they still have a Blackberry and haven't made the jump to Android or iOS yet.

And there's yet more that I haven't listed.

Eventually, I uninstalled all the ones I tried except WhatsApp, KIK, and GroupMe. I haven't tried ChatOn yet. I'll probably uninstall KIK to be honest because there's only one person on there that isn't also on WhatsApp... and GroupMe has something about it that seems interesting so I'm gonna try and check it out a bit more even though I don't have many people on there.

Oh, and Apple have iMessage. That's an epic fail because it's iOS only. I don't think a platform-exclusive messaging service will gain any traction in this day and age, which is why even BBM looks to be going cross-platform.

WhatsApp is what I mostly use too. Are there any features in LiveProfile that make it better?

I already talk to ZK and not you on WhatsApp so I still don't see the advantage.
