FORMER WWE WRITER GIVES INTERVIEW:

Interview with Dixie Carter of TNA:
I hate it when they interview the owner of a company, and they ALWAYS say, no matter what's REALLY going on, that the company is doing the best it's ever been and that they're so excited about where things are going in the future for the company. Um, what ELSE are you gonna say? That you think you're heading a sinking ship? Of course not. You're gonna say you're so looking forward to the future no matter what because the minute YOU seem worried, there'd be no reason for the public to wanna invest in whatever it is that you're doing. So, just give the fuckin' facts and figures and shut the hell up about your so-called "optimism".
Oh, and she's in my "mature" division of my stable, fellas. Hands off, L4OA!

Damn, did ANYONE in the 1998-2000 ECW period go and do bigger things? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Last night, I watched the HBK/Hitman DVD and it was really well done. It was great that they laid everything out there and give their sides with the other sitting next to them. Bret mentioned they left some footage on the cutting room floor and I'd love to see that too.
One thing I think they skimmed over though was the "Sunny Days" thing because we all know Shawn had just broken up with her but that's never talked about "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
You know what would've made the DVD even better? If they had Vince come down and be a part of the whole Survivor Series discussion. Because there were really 3 parties involved in that whole thing and the biggest one wasn't even there.
One thing I did not know was how close or cool HBK and Bret were when HBK sorta first started there. He was close with Bret's family and everything. That, I never knew. I just wish they had put the bonus shit that they put on the Blu-Ray version onto the DVD version, like the segments between interviews and shit.

I didn't watch the ECW, but I remembered watching a little bit of the WCW before they merged with the WWF and then it changed to the WWE.

I kinda knew about it. I skimmed through Bret's book back in '08 and saw a picture of him and Shawn (when he had the '92 mullet "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

TNA & OVW Reach DealTNA sent out the following today…
TNA IMPACT WRESTLING ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE TRAINING PROGRAM AT OVW NASHVILLE, TN (November 7, 2011)– TNA IMPACT WRESTLING announces that they are entering into an exclusive relationship with Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), effective immediately, as the official training and developmental facility for TNA's current and future stars of TNA IMPACT WRESLTING. Former wrestling star and OVW owner Danny Davis will work closely with TNA SVP of Programming and Talent Relations Bruce Prichard in the development of the talent through training, live events, and weekly television production allowing talent to explore every aspect of the business.
"OVW is the best of the best as far as training and nurturing potential superstars. Their track record speaks for itself. Whether looking to develop brand new talent or to fine tune existing talent, OVW has the talent and program to fit our needs." says TNA's Prichard. "TNA is providing developmental talent the opportunity to hone their craft in an environment that will allow them to grow and prosper."
TNA talent will be arriving soon at the facility to begin an extensive training program with the industry's leading experts. The program is akin to a college scholarship program where talent is provided a scholarship style agreement with TNA to learn the craft. The talent to attend the program is selected by TNA's Prichard and TNA officials who will be monitoring the progress of each wrestler at camp and the live events.

awww shit the heat just got turned up! heheh man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Let's hope so!! Because TNA's wrestlers could sure use a nice development program like what OVW was to WWE 10 years ago! Hopefully, it will be just as fruitful for them. FCW has absolutely SUCKED for the WWE. Look at the lack of stars they have now. Hell, the stars that they do have now came from OVW and not FCW, so that says what?!

that's what i'm saying ..if they come off correct vince will have 2 take notice man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

' A couple of things that made OVW so successful were Jim Cornette and Paul Heyman. This OVW won't have that.
But TNA having their own development territory is definitely a good thing. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Rob Van Dam was THE only one to win world titles outside of the original ECW (one-time WWE champion, one-time ECW champion (ECWWE era), one-time TNA World Heavyweight champion).
Even Taz (consider one of THE best ECW champions of all-time) has never had a great career outside of the original ECW other than being a 1/2 of the former WWE tag-team champions with Spike Dudley.

Even when Vince put the belt on RVD in '06, he was too late. He should've put the belt on him in 2001 to 2002.
He was hugely over from the moment he walked in the WWE.
Most guys from that whole WCW/ECW storyline were treated as heels, but he was extremely popular right away. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!
