I even remember a scene where one of the victims may have had an on train autopsy done and his brain was void of any folds/wrinkles. It was just a white blob.

Ok maybe that was another movie. I'm thinking of how you mentioned that the victim's memories and souls were stolen. I also remember a frightened Telly Savales who tried to resist being overtaken by the creature and his eyes bled.

Right again. I just watched Horror Express about 6 months ago, that's why i remember a lot of the details.

There's been a lot of good movies mentioned here. Three that freaked me out(as a kid)were Dead of Night, Fear no Evil and Martin. Dead of night was a trilogy tv series(like Trilogy of Terror). Actually it was produced by the same guy. The specific tale that freaked me out was the one called "Bobby". That demon midget scared the F$%k out of me. They remade Bobby for Trilogy of Terror 2 but it was no where as good as the first bobby.

The ending is FFFUUUCCCKKKEEDD up! I did not approve. hmph!

It SUUUUUUUUURE is!!! Aww man! lol That shit sucked.

I loved that movie until the end. It was one of the few SK books I hadn't read before I saw the movie. The ending made me so upset/sick/horrified I refuse to ever watch it again.

I need to see that. I loved the novella, and the computer video game was the first one I ever played!

Never seen the game

As a kid, I was rendered sleepless by The Exorist and The Howling.

Since reaching adulthood, horror flicks no longer devastate me to that extent, but the classic, original Night of the Living Dead did creep me out a bit. Another film, Begotten, by E. Elias Merhige, was the only film I can recall that actually made me physically sick. It wasn't so scary as simply... grotesque, confusing, unsettlingly primeval.

It's the story of this little girl who was being abused by her mother. The children who came to play with her and her sister knew about the abuse but didnt say anything about it. After a while the mother even had the neighborhood children take a hand in her torture.

The Girl Next Door was written by author Jack Ketchum in 1989. It is loosely based on the true story of the murder of Sylvia Likens in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1965.

It's funny seeing The Exorcist now. Many of the FX that freaked me out are downright laughable now. It's still a very solid film, though. I wish they still made thinking horror flicks.

Not sure which one you mean, but, yep, both Night of the Living Dead and Begotten are B&W.

Foreign movies really freak me out!!

Inside (French)

Audition (Japanese)

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original)

The Orphanage (Spanish)

High Tension (French)

The Descent

FYI - they made the Sylvia Likens story into a movie. It's called "An American Crime." Ellen Page plays Sylvia. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0802948/

The entity! - what made it soo much worse is at the end the text came up saying it was a true story & that it was still happening 2 the mother/family!!! And please is there anyone who remembers a freaky little film called extro or xtro (?) that I watched on a vidoe when I was far 2 young (an 80's film I think) & haunted me for years but ive never met anyone who's seen it!

It's funny how some people say any of the following is not scary at all to them, but all these were intense flavors of scary when I first saw them (and they're not unusual):

The Exorcist

The Shining

Halloween

Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)

Blair Witch Project

But I think there have been great scary moments in a lot of different films including a really fun experience in a packed midnight showing of "Paranormal Activity" which had the whole audience game and under a spell. You could tell the guys that wouldn't stop talking were actually getting creeped out and in denial.
