The Changeling-not the Angelina Jolie flick, but the one with George C Scott

That scared m too. Didn't know anyone else liked that one. thumbs up!

Not much scares me anymore. When the Exorcist first came out, I couldn't sleep for a week. My husband worked graveyard shift and I was up with every light in the house on until he came home. Now it doesn't seem as terrifying. Desensitization... shrug

I can't remember the last time I saw something that really frightened me. The gory and slasher stuff doesn't scare me at all. I prefer supernatural and demonic horror.

Some that, while not scaring me out of my wits, disturbed me...

Possession (with Sam Neill)

The Haunting (original 1963 version)

Ringu (1998)

Jacob's Ladder (although technically not supernatural)

The Orphanage

The Other (1972)

Ghost Story (1981 I think) with Alice Krige, Fred Astaire, Patricia Neal, Douglas Fairbanks Jr.

Blood on Satan's Claw (1971)

And although people give The Blair Witch Project crap--that movie scared me. confused

I refuse to watch Human Centipede. hmph!

There's a movie I want to see although it's said to be very graphic and disturbing. It's called Aftermath. I've read about it and wondered if anyone here has seen it?

Centipeded???? Seriously, April? disbelief dunce lol

Gates of Hell

Psycho

Hills Have Eyes-the original

The Changeling-not the Angelina Jolie flick, but the one with George C Scott

The Sentinel

GATES OF HELL was a good one.

I'll add

The Exorcist

The Thing - Kurt Russell version

White Noise

Hell Night

The Omen - Gregory Peck version

Phantasm

SAW I

Another film, possibly foreign, that I saw only once and got scared to death was this movie about some demonic force possessing people on a train. When someone got possessed their eyes turned red. The main fear factor was this holy man who looked like Rasputin. I think he was either the first or the last to become possessed. Pretty much everyone was either getting killed or getting possessed until the end where the train either crashed or a car with uninfected people was purposely separated from the rest of the train that carried the demon possessed. I wish I could remember the name of that film. Scary shit.

The Omen with Peck was the best one. The remake wasn't good for me. The little boy looked evil, whereas in the original, the little boy looked so sweet when he smiled but had just that small look of malevolence when he didn't...much more subtle.

nod What gets me about the boy in the original is that you almost want to save him. You hope that there is a way to change the outcome and keep Satan from winning. In the remake, my reaction was "fuck that brat and his dumb ass parents".

that movie is so sad to me. po thang. In the exorcist the little girl was fuckin' around with that quija board and basically invited the demon into her home and body. emily was just minding her own business and trying to be a good college student. horrible.

YES!!!! excited They were in it. I haven't seen it in ages but it stayed with me as one of the scariest movies I'd ever seen. Am I correct in stating that the whole demonic force came out of some crate that was dug up? Its been awhile, I'm sure I have embellished the story in my mind...added bits here and there. lol

Actually you described it quite well. The monster was this frozen ancient creature. It was being transported on a train but it started to defrost and when it did, it came back to life and went on a killing spree. It stole people's memories and took their souls and that's why their eyes turned red. It had this really dark, spritual, demonic vibe. It had a interesting story line and that's what's lacking in most of the the american made horror/scary movies of today. I feel sorry for kids that like the scary stuff and are not aware of movies from the 80's,70's 60's and 1950's. Theres a lot of good stuff out there.

Rest in Peace Bettie Boo. See u soon.

nod I even remember a scene where one of the victims may have had an on train autopsy done and his brain was void of any folds/wrinkles. It was just a white blob.

Ok maybe that was another movie. I'm thinking of how you mentioned that the victim's memories and souls were stolen. I also remember a frightened Telly Savales who tried to resist being overtaken by the creature and his eyes bled.

OK...this is funny/weird....

I'm going to throw Keanu Reeve's "Constantine" into the mix.

Before you fishslap me...lemme explain;

I watched the damned movie in the theaters and was amused.

Nothing spectacular.

My ex bought the DVD and one late night we sat and watched it.

After it was over, for whatever reason, I felt as if I was being watched. I imagined the Angels and the Demons walking around the house.

I was scared shitless.
