Here in Hampton Roads, we got NOTHIN! Every area around us got snowed under, but there's always some kind of protective vortex around this place. Even the hurricaines steer clear for some reason.

We got 31 inches of snow on Halloween in Minneapolis in1991. They talk about it on the BBC documentary they did on Prince.

...and here is the view when I open the front door of my house. I literally cannot walk outside, too deep. Unless I wanna wet my jeans from my knees down.

I like these pictures, they are atmospheric. Especially the first one.

And here I was, thinking the same thing. I hate living in a city of mostly new buildings.

I gotta laugh, cuz Rochester, NY is not getting hit by this storm and I don't feel bad for none of y'all!!! Rather, western and central New York have been getting a consistent snow all year which is on pace to break a record for the city of Rochester. I know Syracuse is getting hit bad too. Looks like Buffalo is taking a break this year.

115 inches and counting at our airport. And that doesn't even take into affect towns closer to the lake that get all that lake effect snow.

That's why i love the Bay. 30 degrees is an extremely cold day. Mt sympathies to all those caught in the storm.

evil I'm sooo sick and tired of all this snow!! We've already gotten 10 inches and it's not stopping until late tonight early tomorrow morning.

The worst part is they didn't cancel school at the University, (even though it's a holiday for the students) and I after driving 45mins to get there they sent me right home! mad

This stuff reminds me of when we lived back east we would listen each morning to the radio on snowy mornings for the announcers to list the schools closed for the day..and when ours was announced it would be like we won the lotto!

Yep, I did the same too! Now I call the snow line for the University. Today it said that there was a parking ban but normal operations were still in effect and they would be listening to weather reports carefully. MY ASS!! There are so many employees and not enough parking...they should have cancelled to begin with.

DC is closed down for the most part. The Federal Government is closed tomorrow too. The buses and Metro aren't running either. It's pretty to look at but not when you have to wade through two feet of the stuff.
