WHOAAAAAAA!!!!!

That Margaret is a sneaky broad. That's all I got to say about her.

Dang the Commodore had a stroke? And they going to keep it under wraps? Jimmy's mom slapping the shit out of him at the end? popcorn

Damn what's Chalky going to do? Is it just me or was his wife kind of putting him down at the dinner table in front of the guest? I mean yeah he was drunk but I think she kind of added fuel to the fire with her words.

Jimmy better watch out before Angela starts to fall in love with Richard because he's paying her the attention she craves from Jimmy.

And is Nelson about to be found out? eek

Can't wait for next week!!! Loving this season thus far!!!!!! excited

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Very good episode!!! And I agree Margaret is slick as hell and Chalky's wife was out of line!

Also, did you notice William Forsythe making a guest appearance? I was thinking that Jimmy's charater was probably based on "Sammy The Bull" and then William Forsythe pops up! Of course William played Sammy in the HBO "Gotti" movie. I think it was sort of a wink to fans....

Great episode! excited

I also DVR'd "The Walking Dead", but "Boardwalk Empire" takes precedence! biggrin

I like Margaret, but I don't like how she treats that one maid (can't think of her name). She forgot that not too long ago, the French shoplady told her to bathe. neutral

I'll be glad when Nelson is exposed. It seems like he'd kill himself when caught.

Chalky. Oh man. omg

Did you catch the "dig" his son through his way about checking his sister's homework? Seems like the White family needs a lesson on how their bread is buttered. rolleyes

I couldn't believe that Jimmy's mom was slapping the Commodore like that! I guess after years of holding on to the memory of him raping her... disbelief

I thought she was going to tell him that SHE had the maid poisoning him!

I did too. highfive I'll be watching that this evening.

And I was thinking the exact same thing!!!! I think she either supplied the maid with the poison or had something to do with it. It was too convenient how Nucky just dismissed that incident without punishing the maid, so I knew something was up with that, even back then.

But yeah, Gillian finally got her revenge by slapping the Commodore repeatedly. I wonder how old she was when he raped her....or was Jimmy actually conceived during the rape? hmmm

And ahh man I felt like Chalky should had done more than he did at that dinner table. And yes I did notice what his son did, but I thought he was going to teach him a lesson later but it didn't happen. But when his wife was putting him down in front of the young man.... disbelief I mean really, are they forgetting where the money to keep up that nice house and for food and clothing is coming from??? It seems like they are ashamed of Chalky, yet they "tolerate" him...which is kind of sad. But what in the heck was he doing in the shed at the end? Looks like he was sharpening something???

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

- Margaret is becoming an unlikeable character. She can't decide whether she's jealous or contemptuous towards the young maid.

- Chalky is very different from Omar Little, because he feels a sense of authority and duty in the community. But in some ways they are the same because no one around them can really understand what they're experiencing. Not even his wife. His "arc" in this last episode was very Tony Sopranoesque.

- Gillian is too dense to realize she's setting herself up for a fall.

- Jimmy's in over his head as well. The new client in Philly will deal with him now that the stash is kaput and he's out 5k.

- The scene with Jimmy's wife and sidekick was the best of the season. You can tell where it's headed.

nod Reminiscent of Furio and Carmella in The Sopranos.

And yeah, I do think Margaret is jealous. As you said about Gillian, I think Margaret is setting up herself big time as well. Remember...she picked out that rag in that cake last season. She'll be back in rags by the time the series ends.

Speaking of Omar Little, I never did get into The Wire when it was airing, but since I have HBO GO on my phone, I'll be checking it out, definitely thumbs up!

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I agree, another great episode! smile And yes, Margret's turning into quite the bitch. I wonder a bit why they made such a turn with her and where they want to go because they definitely started out very differently with the character.

And Richard is so fascinating. Great character as well. Maybe he'll make advances towards her, gets turned down and snaps? We'll see!

hmmm I somehow don't think she'll turn him down...for one, they have a lot of things in common, the yearing for love and to be loved and 2, their love for art. I think Jimmy loves Angela, but he's inconsiderate of her feelings and more "Corleone-ish" with it (I love you but stay the fuck out of my business). Wasn't that why she cheated on him on the first place because she got lonely and he made her feel left out? Her reaction to Richard was different than with his other interactions with women on the show so far and being that he has never been in unconditional love with a woman before, I think she's going to feel for him and want him to know what it feels like...to love and be loved in return. I think he going to tap dat ass before the season is over.

I'm a big fan of a lot of TV shows, especially HBO shows, and I say Season 4 of the Wire is probably the greatest season any television show has ever had.

If you think Chalky is something else, check out Omar.

Ah, I really got to check out The Wire. Just started with Breaking Bad, so that comes first, but it's The Wire after that.

I interpreted that as the son trying to cover for Chalky. He knows Chalky is illiterate, but the youngest daughter clearly doesn't. Not that the son's attempt to avoid having Chalky fake understanding his daughter's homework made Chalky feel any better.

I just watched the episode on my DVR yesterday so I'm late to the party.

i think michael pitt is one fine looker. imo, he doesn't wear that hollywood prettyboy face. that's what i like 'bout him.

jimmy aka, michael pitt.

Even if he was "covering", it came across as disrespectful.

When Chalky introduced him to Nucky a couple of weeks ago, he bragged that he was going to Morehouse. It seemed like he "got above himself" because he knew Dad can't read.

To cover, he would have just offered without saying, "Why are you asking him?"
Also, that comment fit with the later display at the dinner table.

You and I had different perspectives about something else. I guess we just see life differently. ohgoon

yeah, i watched the show last night. seemingly nucky (played by steve buscemi) is not sweating his current situation. his brother eli is another story. i've still yet to figure margaret schroeder out. however this chic's got some calculating intelligence. like when she got nucky's ledger and then the gun thingy last night. when she held a rifle on eil. i'm all shewwww, and surprised. she came to nucky's rescue. 'cause eli was getting ready to take him out. even though the rifle was empty, margaret played out the bluff convincingly!

at the beginning of the first season, i thought steve buscemi would not be able to carry out his portrayl of nicholas thompson successfully. however now i think differently about him.

imo, steve buscemi deserves kudos for being a very courageous and successful actor.

by today's standards of male handsomeness steve is no where near the center of that circle. it's like he's admired for his mental strength and adroit acting skills.

if asked, i give him star star star star star as an actor. remember him as tony blundetto in the 'sopranos'? that's when i first really noticed him.

Steve Buscemi in 1996

and this guy (agent nelson van Alden) reminds me of elmer fudd as a federal agent gone bad.

Elmer Fud...absolut martini

Michael Shannon as Nelson Van Alden

seems like fuse is not far off. and wtf, the baby? mama's going crazy. reading well only hollywood knows. 'cause they've been know to flip the script at a second's notice.
