RIP Steve Jobs.

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/statement-by-apples-board-of-directors-2011-10-05

CUPERTINO, Calif., Oct 05, 2011 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today.
Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve.
His greatest love was for his wife, Laurene, and his family. Our hearts go out to them and to all who were touched by his extraordinary gifts.

Granted, I've seen this tragic day coming for a while, but it's still a huge loss for the tech and business and even consumer world. May he rest in peace.

I see him a little differently. I see him as a man who made immense wealth while sending jobs overseas and never giving to charity. Even after that i still hate to see a life lost. RIP

He devoted his life creating products that have made a major positive impact on humanity. That's a lot more most people.

Maybe American workers are more important than workers of other parts of the world to you, as is making a big hoopla every time he makes a donation so you can piously clap from home, but he did not seem like that type to me. You do not know his personal donation tally, so it best to know what you speak of, before being disrespectful.

I will never ever really know and neither will you. That is why i said "I" see him defferently. But here's someone else who seems to know a little more than me http://www.wired.com/gadg...6/01/70072

Bill Gates: Working with Steve Jobs an 'insanely great honor'

Bill Gates, the co-founder of Microsoft Corp., weighed in on the death of Steve Jobs on Wednesday, posting a statement on his personal website, the Gates Notes.

I'm truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs' death. Melinda and I extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends, and to everyone Steve has touched through his work.

Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives.

The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come.

For those of us lucky enough to get to work with him, it's been an insanely great honor. I will miss Steve immensely.

R.I.P. to one of the greatest visionaries we've seen in recent times. Steve Jobs had a hand in creating the world's leading computer company, animation studio, MP3 player, digital music store, smartphone, and tablet. Talk about a legacy of effectively seeing ideas through to fruition...

I'm darned near 40, and I can honestly say Jobs' leadership has helped shape my life -- for the better, I think -- since I was 11. Good show.

May he rest in peace.
