cant be without a car!!!!! my'89 is on its last leg, but i wasnt bothered cause it was given to me after having sat in a neighbors garage for 20 years, so for the most part it worked enough for me to get back and forth to the store and what not....
since the car was old, its having problems i'll never be able to afford to fix...
relay panel needs to be replaced so the air and windows can work 300.00 gaskets need to be change 250.00 rods need replacing 7-1200.00 or at least 150 to just tighten some bolts under there...
so at the very least ill have to be broke for an entire month and that just cant happen, so, im gonna sell the car to the junk yard so i can get a down payment on another car...hopefully. THE B EST BE YOURSELF AS LONG AS YOUR SELF ISNT A DYCK[/r]

unless you live in a harsh climate or have to drive children to and from school, I would just get a scooter. A billion times cheaper and GREEN, not to mention better for city driving.
My love affair with cars really died my last year in the states. It just became more of a burden to me (but then again, I don't enjoy driving).

Mostly agree, but a motorcyle would be much more versatile, allowing highway speed if needed.
If you have to have a car look into fixing it yourself for a 1/4 of the cost you listed Now I'm older than movies, Now I'm wiser than dreams, And I know who's there

I've never had a car. I like driving, but only on nice, winding country roads. I'm loathe to get a car and drive in Bangkok. One day I may have to though. MY COUSIN WORKS IN A PHARMACY AND SHE SAID THEY ENEMA'D PRANCE INTO OBLIVION WITH FENTONILS!!

...and as long as the monthly car payments and higher insurance won't kill you.

No public transportation you could use in the short term? I haven't owned a car in so long I forget how long its been. But I can get within a couple blocks of pretty much anyplace I need to go on public transportation in the Bay Area.
Edit: Whoa... there was like... half a sentence missing. Fixed it. [Edited 9/29/11 8:01am]

Around here public trans. is "we'll get you where you absolutely, positively NEED to be, eventually (or where WE need to collect the most City revenue), outside of that you're on your own", there are still business parks (good paying jobs) that have no public trans. access, it's improved over the years, there was a time when some of the best jobs were completely out of reach if you didn't have access to a car.

looks like a Kia or a Volkswagon. I can't tell. Gurl go and get that car. If the dealer is an old friend then ask him to help you out. I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

The metro area in Minnesota it's like that; all the public transportation seems to cover mostly the Minneapolis area but not everyone lives nor work in Minneapolis.
But yeah, for the most part you can't survive in Minnesota without a car. Just not possible. “The right to be heard does not automatically include the right to be taken seriously.”
