I saw the original, so I never saw the remake. Has anyone seen both to say whether the remake's worth seeing?

Movie we just finished watching... interesting concept, kinda mindless. Wouldn't recommed it unless u like exploitation films that are make more for concept than a story with real value or meaning. 2.5/5 stars.

2.5 of 5. Jason Statham is his usual stone cold cool self. It was good. At the very least a must rent for the action. But if you like the lead guy-you will like the movie.

The remake isn't bad. There were a few vampire cliches in it though that made me rolleyes My ratings:

Let The Right One In star star star star star (perfect)

Let Me In star star star 1/2

I liked it too. 4/5. You really had to look at his jacket. Was the scorpion Ryan's idea (he is scorpio) or was that in the book?

Drive (2011) - part time Hollywood stunt driver, part time getaway driver for heist operations. a solid 5/5

I expected no less from director Refn. the cast is stellar but while reviews keep talking about Carey Mulligan's scenes with Gosling (which were great), I find his scenes with Christina Hendricks to be the strongest. she was fantastic while she lasted, then again I expected no less from her either.

ps. that jacket from the poster, as well as the hammer scene, I think they'll become pretty iconic with time.

the costume designer for the film says the jacket was Ryan's idea because he wanted to create a character that people could dress up as for Halloween. as for the scorpion logo, she says they took inspiration for it from Kenneth Anger's Scorpio Rising. supposedly the design is copyright and they're planning on making the jacket available for sale as it's already in demand!

I watched this on cable last night;

I give it a star star star out of 5

Interesting premise, great acting (Meryl owns every damned role she plays), but ultimately - probably because it's a romantic comedy - it barely scratched the surface of the topic at hand.

The premise IMO deserved a more in-depth treatment. I spent the whole time thinking of myself in that situation 10 years from now, but at the end it left me wanting more of a resolution. Some conflict, some anguish, something that real people in the real world would experience.

But then again it wouldn't be Hollywood if it did, huh?

shrug

Midnight Cowboy. Perfect. Sad though. 11/10?

A Haunting in Connecticut. Hour and a half of my life that's not coming back. Very inconsistent. Full of holes. 1/10.

Wakewood. Average. Very average. Despite having Timothy Spall. 5/10.

This movie freaked me out so hard neutral I was squirming through parts of it. It was very hard to watch, yet I couldn't stop lol Some very real stuff going on. I give it a 4 out of 5.

This one gets a 3 out of 5. It was just ok to me. I'm a big baby about scary movies but this didn't scare me much. lol

the build up to those very last few minutes of the film was seriously good. at first I was curious, then got anxious, and by the end of it I was damn near paralyzed. lol

It's what I like best about Lars's work, he sure leaves you with something to walk away with!

nod I was so fascinated with the movie and at the same time I really had to take a deep breath sometimes. Because as unrealistic and as unthinkable the whole idea of the movie actually is, the performance of the actors and their reactions to what's coming felt so realistic and understandable.

And what is the movie actually about? I think ultimately it is about the different views we have about life, captured in this one scene between the sisters, when Justine says that "life is only on earth" but who would miss it.

I have to see it again.
