I read somewhere that "Mad Max" is in the works right now. I've been waiting for over 25 years for a remake, since "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome".

Logan s Run (1975)

In a future society, the population has grown to such a degree that the consumption of resources must be managed to ensure the continuation of humanity. This is done by killing everyone when they reach the age of thirty. But a man named Logan 5 wants to live past that birthday and attempts to escape this fate.

i'm all thinking about the logan's run movie this morning, so i decided i would post it. the concept of the story was more interesting than the film itself. however i managed to get in to the plot and wondered what a society would be like if "30" was considered too old in the eyes of the government leaders. i found this movie at a goodwill, glad i bought it.

so anyway it turns out that there is going to be a remake of Logan's Run, starring (one of my favs) Ryan Gosling. due to be released circa 2012.

i'll so be going to see this movie.

I'm a fan of this movie too, though I'm not sure why, because I wouldn't exactly call it good. Regardless, I probably watch it a couple times a year (might be the fond memories of it running on tv when I was a kid).

I'm leery of a remake - not sure it would work without that '70's charm'...

nod It wasn't really that 'good.' But like you, I have childhood memories. My favorite uncle took me to see this as a kid. He didn't think I was too young for 2001: A Space Odyssey either. Got me hooked on the Andromeda Strain. That one I pray they don't try to remake. beg It was perfect!

I developed a serious crush on Michael York and Jenny Agutter watching that movie.

Apparently they're talking about a remake of Matthew Modine's "Vision Quest", starring wolf-boy himself Taylor Lautner.

shrug meh-!
