Have you ever met a very intelligent ten year old? I have. My daughter is 9 scores horribly on tests due to her dyslexia but has a wisdom far beyond her years and has shocked adults with it, not just me. Yet there are some things you would or at least should feel uncomfortable saying to her. If she smarts off at me in an arrogant fashion I will say something but not nearly what I will say to her 10 years from now if at 19 that same noise came from her mouth. And if she speaks like that at 29, oh, she will be sorry.

A persons age should temper your response.

Being aware of the perspective from which a person is coming from in a discussion really goes a long way toward mutual understanding.

It looks like the 40 and over crowd is coming out loud and proud and it is the under 21 group that is being quiet about their age. That is just the opposite of what I would have expected. The people between 21 and 40 seem to also be shouting out their ages easily. Thus far this thread has gotten more responses then I thought it would .

I've told so many stories about "Back in The Day" that I figured my REAL age was probably significantly younger than many would have assumed, lol.

A persons age should temper your response.

I doubt there are any org member under the age of 12/13, which is, in my opinion, the age where you can start being completely honest with someone (even in an argument).

It sounded as if you were addressing respect and that young folks should understand that they usually can't be right when they argue with someone much older; - that's what I would criticise.
