I love Korean movies Min-sik Choi (Oldboy, I saw the devil) is the best actor. Can you name some of your favorite Korean fims?

the vengange trilogy is great. if you like that you will like stuff like audition, ichi the killer, the infernal affairs trilogy, and battle royale. more japanese than specifically korean, but similar styles of violence without being just gore fests like tokyo gore police. ie the story, direction and cinematography are more important than the blood but they don't hold back on the violence

I hate subtitles. As soon as I can understand Korean I'm sure I'll love a lot of their movies because they've been doing some great stuff for the last 10-15 years. But really, I hate subtitles.

Save the green planet is the best korean movie I know. It's awesome.
The Host is also very good.
A tale of two sisters is a masterpiece. Forget about the shitty US-remake and watch the original.

Where do I start given that I live in the damn country?!
If I was going to recommend one Korean movie I would definetely choose Taegukgi. Memories of Murder is probably my favorite based on unsolved murder case in 1986. JSA (Joint Security Area) is also very good about a doomed friendship between North and South Korean soldiers on the DMZ.
Oldboy I found a little hard to follow. The Host is also enjoyable but only really if you are into that kind of thing I think. There's Joy In Expatriation.

saved the green planet is a brilliant film, wow..what a ride!
also, the man from nowhere! I enjoyed this more than i saw the devil.
Bad Guy, twisted but lightweight compared to other Korean flicks.
Yellow sea.
Im a cyborg, but that's OK!
