A lot of young parents saw The Lion King as kids, loved it, and now want to share it with their kids.

It's like Disney movies like Snow White, Pinocchio and Fantasia. My mom saw those movies as a kid, then took my sisters and me to see them when they were re-released a generation later.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Loved the stage play. Must admit it has been some years since I've seen the the animated feature, I think one of my kidz has the disc now, maybe I get it from them someday and sit back and enjoy.

The movie was great, but I have mixed feelings about this development. confused Now that a remake was retooled to be shown in 3D and made huge money, it may prompt the other movie studios to re-release their biggest hits in 3D and go for a quick buck instead of coming up with something original. Then again, it appears mass audiences don't want anything original, as two of the best reviewed movies of the year were released in the last two weeks and did poorly at the box office.

sigh disbelief typing

Pfft...Suckers.

Like I said on FB...
I have this movie on VHS and DVD. I wish I would pay $15 extra just to see Mufasa get thrown off a cliff in 3D. Disney can kiss the empty pockets on my rapidly growing ass. lol
