I had it in 2nd grade. I remember it affected at least half of the class by table groupings. I don't remember how long I was out of school. Only remember being really itchy and taking baking soda sponge baths. It's making me itchy remininscing over it. confused Ended up with a distinctive pox mark near my nose.

Sounds like you went through hell. I've never had it though one time when someone at home caught it, I got vaccinated so I don't get it.

I was already vaccinated also... still got em. The older you are the less resilient your skin is to scarring. I have scars now from the blisters. Only a few though, but still mad

I had them for almost an entire month. I couldn't wait til the scabs fell off... it took FOREVER.

Yeah I don't really believe the vaccine works either. There was a breakout at work recently and I was given the option of not coming in so I didn't go just in case.

I had them twice when I was younger; both cases were very mild. In the small town where I grew up there was inevidibly a "break-out" in the elementary school every year, usually in the kindergarten or first grade classes. Moms with pre-school aged children would bring their kids in hoping they would catch it so that by the time they were in school they would be immune to the virus. smile

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I had it when I was about 10 or 11...my brother caught it at the same time...AND unfortunately we gave it to my dad!

I just remember the itching that you couldn't scratch and that pink stuff you'd put on the skin.

I had it when I was 6 and I don't remember who I caught it from. I hated the pink stuff because it stunk to high heavens IMO.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I have no way of knowing if she picked up the virus from one of her nephews and transferred it to me and I to my kids or if my kids picked up the virus, transferring to me, then me to her. Or maybe I picked up the virus elsewhere and tranferred it to them, no way of knowing. We just were all susceptible to it at the same time. It was weird though.

I understand shingles and cp are either the same virus or very similar. I've always wondered if the reason I only got the mild case is because I was exposed to it as a child even though I never got them myself. Oatmeal baths are suppose to help though I sure there are better remedies on the market

Over the counter calomine lotion helps the itching and taking warm baths with baking soda helped too.

How old were you and who did you catch it from if anyone? What was your experience like?

Yes ...4 times (!!!!) all in adulthood - 3 not bad a 1 where I thought I was going to die (quite literally).

In adults in can cause quite serious neurological problems and, even 5 years on i still go numb down my back and face. During the period I had it I hallucinated every night, heard voices, and have been left scarred and pitted even though I didnt pick them once...i got the blisters literally everywhere...EVERYWHERE. I I wanted to die (no joke)

Even after it had cleared up I had night sweats for 3 months

Absoloute worst experience of my life hands down . Before this really big attach I had 1 mild case 2 days before my wedding that only effected my arms and have had 2 mild cases since which have really come to nothing...but the big one I was unrecognisable
