This thread is obvivously dedicated to whistle and to Thailand.

I have to run, but I think this is an appropriate place as any for Thailandphile posts.

First:

THAIS ARE REALLY FRUGAL when it comes to MATERIALS

Look, let's face it. The world's population is going to top 10 billion before 2050, and this is going to put further stresses on our environment. Industries like textiles, electronics, et. all need to prepare for this. As is evident from above the 15,000,000 students currently attending Thai public schools are forced to wear uniforms. These college students are doing her part by wearing a skirt in which only enough fabric is being used to cover the parts of her body that legally mandate it. This allows for greater airflow, movement, and frequent disrobing, but most importantly it reduces the environmental footprint of the average student. The less material needed to covering up, the less petrol is required to produce it, and the fewer freights are needed to truck these uniforms to and fro.

This environmentally savvy mindset extends to their evening and informal dress too.

Again, greater airflow and movment, along with ease-of-disrobing are pratically solutions to what would otherwise be combersome outfits. With all this thoughful energy being placed into the design of their clothes, it be very easy to overlook things like heavy pollution, free-for-all energy usage, lack of recycling, and other such superflous considerations.

And of course, Thais REALLY know how to maximize their study time.

These high school boys must have exhuasted hours and hours of mathematics, English, ans History time to put together this routine in their dance class.

Yep. She'd said she wasn't wearing underwear, so maybe that's part of it. Around the same time there was a trend among high school girls of dying their pubic hair, not wearing underwear, and sitting astride motorbike taxis showing their artistic skills.

Why, a lot of my friends only go there for plastic surgery and sex tours. I find the place morally repugnant. The children are sexually exploited there, in the news a NZer was found murdered in Pattaya near local paedophile resort Sunee Plaza. One of my friends had photos of boys as young as three, amde up and selling candy on the beach, and bars with young boys in them. Its sick, they like them as they are so young looking.

Oh I was very judgemental about it. I hate to see children hurt or exploited and wish Thailand did a better job selling its rich culture (The temples in Bangkok are amazing) and its natural environment (Koh Samui) and the richness of its indigenous hill tribes. Thailand has so much more to offer than plastic surgery and sex. Wheres the initiatives to show rural young Thais a life beyond the bars. You all must know that the richest Thais are the ones in the big cities and Bangkok, and the poorest are the ones in rural villages, mostly near Chiang Mai and the north.

I was a bit stressed when I sad that, and was referring to mostly Pattaya and Patphong in Bangkok the sex districts

Fair enough. I'm not too impressed by Pattaya, I've got to say. I think if anything some parts of it are sleazier than the worst Bangkok has to offer. Both are more than just that though, but Bangkok more than Pattaya, I think.

See? Thailand threads can be entertaining and educational. I would like to dedicate this specific post to whistle.
