Are you a shopaholic? What about a sexaholic? Where is violator???

I'm watching this show called Consumed and I am realizing that I'm not much different than this lady who compulsively shops for clothes, shoes and accessories.

I don't live in a cluttered home or anything...I'm actually extremely organized...but going by what they are saying on this show, I have too much stuff.

So I got to thinking...is it possible for me to go into a store and not buy something? And the answer is no...it's not.

Anyone else?

Yeah, I'm bored....just humour me.

What about sex? Do you crave the cock/ass/snatch/whatever all the time too?

Where are you violator??????????????? Come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, I'm not. I do more browsing than buying. I don't tend to buy things on a whim either, especially with food (I basically buy 3/4 of a list in my head of the same food items I'll ever buy, depending on what I'm bored with or miss). Normally I know what I want to buy when I go out, and looking in other shops where I'm not buying said item(s) is just about strolling and passing time, seeing what's there (maybe to buy in future, but not then).

I try to convince myself that I need something, like Urban Decay's Book of Shadows IV.

I don't need it.

I don't need it.

I don't need it?

But you might need it? So you should probably buy it?

That's what I tell myself.

There is that too. lol

Even so, when I've got lots of disposable income I'm same way. I'm a bit boring like that, but then after my teens I've not really been into buying 'stuff' all that much. I used to always splash out on the latest crap I didn't need like minidisc players, designer clothes and unnecessarily professional stuff for my racing bike. It doesn't excite me anymore and even makes me feel guilty.

I can definitely relate to being a shopaholic and probably was one in the past. There is a feeling of euphoria that comes over me still to this day when I buy a new perfume or a make-up palette. Kind of like an instant gratification. And for a split second, I feel like a better person for making my purchase. But then the reality sets in that I'm now a broke ass bitch and can't afford any of this crap.

That's how I used to feel. One day I didn't get that feeling anymore and it threw me for a loop for a while. I was really quite lost. lol I think I'd built most of my happiness around saving up for and buying the next 'thing' I'd decided I wanted, and without the happiness from that everything seemed pointless. Then I got a more rounded, balanced life. lol

I think for me I just like having lots of options.

And I think that I look for material things to make me happy when I'm sad.

Today I almost bought a pair of LAMB boots....I was so close, but I had to stop myself and say, "Dude, you have 3 other boots that look so similar to these ones...what the fuck? Why?"

So I put them back and 5 minutes later I was having the same conversation with myself about a pair of Badgley Mischka pumps that were not even comfortable...and I still had to talk myself out of getting them.

In the end, I resisted like 5 items because I simply just don't need anything right now...but still ended up buying this cute as all hell plaid shirt for my son. I convinced myself that even though he doesn't need anything, it's back to school time so it's ok to get some more things.

I mean, come on...I couldn't leave with nothing.

I complained about reality shows for a decade, but now they are finally interesting to me. I can see myself getting hooked (no pun intended) on this show if I watch it.

It was interesting enough I guess.

They make them live with almost nothing for 30 days to show them that all that cluttered shit is useless.

*makes note to self to NEVER tell my mom about this show* lol

I have so much clutter in my room and don't even use it right now and nobody can make me clean it, too much emotional crap. I think they want to sit me down tomorrow and intervene, but I'm leaving for the day cause I have places to go.

wink Good save on the edit Erin! - Deffo increased the threads longevity by a good 1000%.

.

Im totally the opposite, ive shopped for hours and never bought anything, I usually dont tend to unless i really like something and even then my sense of style requires encouragement from other people to help me decide.

.

Dont crave cock, dont crave ass, definitely crave snatch nod

.

Thanks for wondering! smile

Yes it is possible for me to go into a store and not buy anything or fuck anyone there.

OK maybe it depends on what they sell and who's there.

Anyway, we totally tried skyping you more than once on Saturday eve but you were obviously shop-fucking or something. rolleyes

I have a really bad spending habit and I'm in debt. I have noticed finally that I do it more when I'm down, or if something goes wrong in public and it calms me down after. I think it comes from the fact that I wasn't always given limitations as a kid when collecting things, and now if I get urges, I try to just buy cheap and useful things instead of expensive ones.

No, he's far too good for that.

Remember that pic he posted of himself, with his shirt off?

Um, yeah....I like to think about that pic now and then....

Yes, he was hot...but he also was so very sweet to me.

Boooo!!!! Make him come back.
