Well, that's pretty clear then. Most here are against unions and consider Jay-Z as the victim or just doing what all the big corporations do and therefore not liable.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

If you're asking me if I feel bad about lazy asses who get paid $30+ an hour for 5 hour work days and hold most major companies hostage to make sure that they and theirs (most of which involve organized crime, by the way) get paid?

Not even a little.

Unions may have started out as a good idea many many years ago, but now with OSHA laws being what they are, like everything else it's a corrupted joke of what it once was.

So, yeah put me down as anti-union.

Hell, he's a shit hopper isn't he? They make the cheapest music possible with no instruments or musicians for the biggest profit possible so why should any other project they're involved in be any different. lol

Jay-Z is loaded. He is extremely rich.

That's okay because he likes to entrepeneur and apparantly he's good at it.

However, it's clear that he makes that much profit by keeping his costs low and (ab)use cheap labor under unsafe conditions.

He exploits the builders who are constructing his 40/40 club that needs to make Jay-Z more money.

I think it's sad that he makes money by means of cheap and exploiting labor and not adhering to union standards.

What are you'r thoughts about it?

He is probably not the only singer who does that and that includes actors ....

A lot of companies mistreat workers so why is a billionaire supposed rap titan significant to this? If you get attached to a corporation, this happens. And no one is really doing anything about it to fix it. It's bigger than Jay-Z.

I really think there is a huge difference between the American unions and Dutch. Overhere, I think most unions are considered as not tough enough. However, all your reactions suggest that even labor people aren't pro-unions. neutral

Jay-Z is now The Establishment's delegate to the Anti-Establishment. He settles beefs by getting people fired, not on a mixtape or mic.

This is how I feel. We are like magnets to celebrities and watch them 24/7. Remember all that attention over L Lohan shoplifting or whatever? Meanwhile there are cases of government employees stealing millions, MILLIONS of tax payers money and it gets barely any press at all in the state that it happened. I doubt if it gets press outside the state at all.

It scares me how focused we are on celebrities and reality T.V. and bull shit people that we will never meet and simply are in a fog as to what is going on with the real people who do affect our lives.

There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.
