I have a 9 year old daughter. If I eat like a pig and balloon up to 500 pounds that will not affect her health. She has to actually partake in the scoffing down of junk food. Smoking is different. If I smoke in the house and she lives in the house she will have a greater risk of getting cancer. I am not only ruining my lungs but hers as well. Eating badly and alcoholism do not affect the child's health in the moment. They may grow up to have food or alcohol issues but their liver is not being ruined while you are drinking. They are not developing type 2 diabetes because their Parents are eating way too much junk.
This is the problem with smoking. Unless you have your own home you affect your neighbors and your neighbors affect you. It is like a barking dog or loud music. If that's something you want in your life then live far enough away from other people so they don't have to live your lifestyle with you. Otherwise get use to their evil eyes and bitching.
What Genesia said was spot on. Smoke goes into your neighbors appartment. God, if smokers don't like to smell of smoke, is it so strange that non-smokers don't want to? That shit about FauxReals neighbor smoking in the f'n laundry room is enough to make me crazy. That is the kind of " I am a smoker and I love cigarettes and fuck you non-smoker just deal with it" attitude that makes me crazy.
It stinks it stinks it stinks!!!!!! My closet stank of pot and cigarettes because my downstairs neighbors smoked both a lot. Now I am living in a house with a non-smoker, THANK GOD!!!!

Radon is NOT in my building nor are other natural gases. I don't need to worry about that. No research needed, you see this is what carbon monoxide and smoke detectors are for, and like I said before... if I get sick from some shit in my building, I will sue my landlord. Like many tenants have done before in similar situations regarding gases caused by either natural or chemical sources.... successfully.
People don't get sick from their own cigarette smoke because their body developes a tolerance and addiction to it. Worry has nothing to do with that.
My asthma is controlled without steriods, but if any cigarette smoke is near me I get sick... but if you have the cure for asthma please share it oh wise one since you know something I don't.
People still have a right to their own well being, this is why noise ordinances and other rules are initiated by landlords to make sure tenants have quality of life while renting in an apartment. Otherwise slumlords would be able to rent to people all the time without threat of litigation.

Sorry but I am talking about people who are smoking daily and often and are going to be living in the apartment not just visiting. It all adds up. Sure, come to my place and have a cigarette after you eat, fine. That is totally different from living next to a chain smoker day in and day out. Hmm.. well let's see.. through visualization, meditation, and strong faith alone I have completely aligned my spine, got rid of some scars, a rash I had for months, greatly increased stamina and vitality, greatly increased physical health/strength, cured my alopecia (&by doing so, I had to affect my immune system since alopecia is basically a defect in your immune system which makes your hair follicles fall out), made my hair strong and healthy and free from split ends completely (haven't gotten a haircut in four years!), made my nose smaller, slighty changed my face structure, got rid of the hair on my legs
Right now I am currently working on my eye color. I have brown eyes, and I want them a kind of mix of some dark black and purple and brown (I met this gorgeous girl who had real purple eyes and they were positively stunning
I've heard cases of people who have done things from prevent aging to curing their own cancer to growing their breasts
So yes, you can absolutely get rid of your asthma. Steroids aint got shit on the powers of your mind
If you want to read more on this Bruce Lipton has some interesting reads.

Is that you or your addiction talking?
Are you saying that asthma is a fake disease and that asthma does not exist? That people fake asthma attacks? Yeah people fake asthma... we like faking like we can't breathe until people end up being intibated or dead. Yeah... its just all in my head, thanks for clearing that up for me and my sons. We'll just tell our doctors that too!!

no , i'm not saying that however i'm saying that i'm reluctant to believe you get an asthma attack at the slightest whiff of smoke , it sounds really far fetched , imho

That and ant/roach spray does it... INSTANT trigger.
There is more shit in cigarettes than just tobacco. Tobacco is NOT what triggers it... it may be the tar, or other poisons in it that does that.

It has nothing to do with wishing. Like I said, people have cured their own cancer.
Like I said, everything in your body is controlled by your mind center.
I'm over here living the perfect life free of pesky problems like that and you're over there complaining about your asthma.

I think the real key here is if the tenants signed an lease saying that they would not smoke. If there wasn't a no-smoking clause in their agreement there isn't anything you can do about it. However if there was, well that is a different story. Non smokers and exsmokers like myself just need to be aware of that when we rent. We have to ask upfront if smoking is allowed on the premises and where. Since smoking ruins the apartment and the landlord needs to foot the bill for that, plenty of landlords are out there who only want nonsmokers. We just have to look for them. Complaining?
But um... why do you keep an addiction like cigarettes if you possess so much mind control?
Why even smoke? Kinda hypocrytical statements about needing meds and all.
You could control your adrenaline and endorphines with our mind center right? Why use any substance to trigger any high?
Don't worry about me, I don't need substances to get me a buzz to tolerate my life. I'm good.

Who says I'm addicted? I enjoy cigarettes. I enjoy smoking. But I absolutely don't need them to survive. Just this Ramadan I quite for a whole month, cold turkey, absolutely no problem and it wasn't any trouble for me at all. I usually will have one or two cigarettes in a day, I even skip days sometimes. Yes, cigarettes make me feel good. I enjoy having a smoke. But I don't feel like I need them and I am by no means dependent on them. Argeela is also smoked regularly in my household.
The reason that so many people are negatively affected by cigarettes is because they become dependent on them (any many other things, too, from TV or internet to food to alcohol and cigarettes to hard drugs and everything in between). They become dependent on them as a result of some inner conflict that they have and it of course affects them negatively. As a result, they become dependent on something that temporarily helps them feel better and because they rely on that thing as a result of their inner conflict which makes it so that they are negatively affected by that addiction, whatever it is, including cigarettes. We can get rid of inner conflict and there doesn't need to be those problems. But just because I smoke doesn't mean I'm addicted. Just because I can use my mind to control these things, doesn't mean I can't enjoy things. Why watch TV, why go on the computer, why drive if I could get into a car accident, why do any of the things I do if there is a risk to every single one of them? Why not just stay in my home and meditate all day?
I'm Egyptian
Btw, anyone can posses a lot of 'mind control' (or what is really like a laser focus). It's a natural ability that we all have within us.

Painted is dead on here... Certain smells trigger my allergies which in turn sometimes trigger my asthma..
I used to have asthma pretty bad as a child, had to be on meds and inhalers but I have "mostly" grown out of it... But every once in a while, I get an attack usually triggered by a smell... And it isnt the "smell" per se but the chemicals that are IN that smell that trigger the attack

Well something else that's ironic in all of this is that the upstairs neighbor (the one I actually talked to) said that she has breast cancer and she smokes anyway. Okay, so she's terminally ill and doesn't give a crap about her health because she still smokes anyway. Perhaps this could be good for her to stop smoking and perhaps help her get better! The neighbor across the hall smokes regardless and since she's a bit wacky, I avoid her anyway.
Another twist to this---just recently, the landlord informed me that my neighbor upstair's sister is moving into the unit downstairs (it's only three levels and 6 units in this building). She is going to be using Section 8 vouchers, even though the remaining units are regular rentals. The landlord has previously asked me to be his "eyes and ears" at the building, so I routinely handle small stuff around here. Does anyone know if smoking is prohibited in section 8 rentals? If so, I'm going to make that clear to the landlord, so that he is afraid of losing that rental property voucher. Hopefully then he can put the pressure on the wacky neighbor across the hall to stop smoking and I can also inform the sister downstairs that smoking would jeopardize her rental.
For all of you saying that I'm "whining" for no reason, you ever heard or second-hand smoke or do you still think the world is flat? Trolls be gone!

Fair enough, but if you bothered to pay attention to my posts... you would see that I did NOT complain about my beighbors. My asthma is under control and I manage just fine.
I don't appreciate people saying shit in in my head though. My diease is very real and smoking is a real problem and many are addicted. You may not be in the USA and buy the same types of brands people do here. Different companies, different ingredients.
Its good you have a handle on all your issues though... good for you young jedi.
