Having a Déjà vu ?

Have you ever had one? I mean, really, really had one?

The kind that leaves you speechless and makes you think that you're re-living a moment in time?

omg

This past Friday I had one.

I was standing in front of my closet, picking out clothes for the weekend, and I looked at the reflection in the mirror to see the ex lying in bed watching TV...and it HIT ME! That time and place and even the emotions and shit happening right at that moment was familiar. Me picking out a particular shirt...knowing where I was going that night...looking over at her with disdain...it was all being repeated. It was as if I had just remembered some nightmare/dream that I'd had which was being brought to life.

I stopped for a minute or two and had to clear my head. It was so surreal.

disbelief

What about you?

Ever had one of these?

Man...I was stunned.

It wasn't one of those "Gee this feels familiar" moments...it was a full-blown "OMG I have lived this before" and it was like I knew what I was going to think/do next before I actually did.

omg

There has to be more to this life than we know. I am convinced.

Did it feel like you slammed into a wall? Not like being in pain or anything, but like something slammed into you and time stopped as you watched the scene happen??

I read that the latest thought is that your brain is temporarily misplacing memory, putting something that is just happening into long term instead of short term memory, so it feels as if you are remembering what you are doing.

Not that "violent" in a sense, but it made me stop in my tracks and take a breath.

things don't occur as we precieve them. They actually happent instants before had and your brain holds onto these sensory inputs for moments while it create corresponding time pockets to match these inputs and memories with, allowing for you to be able to "precieve" time. Deja Vu occurs when this process gets out of sync and sensory inputs/memories that have already happend, but you haven't "precieved" yet, get ahead of the game and into an incorrect place in the timeline in your head, making U feel as if it's already occured "as" it's occuring.

I'm SURE I'm explaing this wrong, but I was watching a bunch of lectures bt Dr. Ramachandran and this is kind of how it was explained. It's not anything "otherwordly"

I could feel the feeling U felt as I read that!!!!

.

I cant remember what mine was (v poor memory sad) but it confused me so much I had to sit down and uncuffuffle my brain for a few minutes.

.

I hope there's psychological studies into the affects and mechanics of Deja Vu because i find it fascinating.
