Yeah...I'm still adjusting to my new environment (one month later) but I intend on getting into that groove...I know that I can buy a week's worth of chicken and tuna and stuff and cook it and proportion it and everything.
Probably someplace online that'll help with that.
You can still have junk food, just keep it to a minimum. Shit, I eat KFC @ twice a month.
Eating more of the good stuff will help you to gain strength. Chicken and tuna is perfect.
What about red meat? I've been reading some fitness sites and they are saying that you should eat lean red meat as well, though I always thought you were suppose to avoid red meat if you want to lose weight and get leaner. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

I don't eat that much red meat and pork anymore - I stick mostly to chicken, fish, goat and turkey. I love goat - it's leaner and has less fat than beef. [Edited 10/22/11 18:31pm] |

Okay, yeah I don't eat much pork any more either. I do eat turkey bacon or turkey sausage now and then but it's never an every day or every week thing. Same with red meat. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. |

Dude - GOAT? You mean like curry goat from a Jamaican joint?
What about oxtail? I love me some oxtail.
(yeah I know it's really beef tail)
But seriously - I thought that eating lot's of red meat was good for packing on size??? By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! |

At my age(50), I realy don't want to eat too much red meat. I can get protein from other places. I'm a pretty good size - I'm 5'9", and my weight fluctuates between 205-215 lbs.
Goat is delicious. I prefer it over beef. [Edited 10/22/11 21:42pm] |

I reached one of my goals - hack squats(facing forward) with ten 45lb. plates on each side. Banged out five reps - YES! |

I work out 3 to 4 times a week.
I do find it hard to keep the weight on though, although I do eat a fair amount of meat

Yep(I only do that twice a month)....facing the other way(with my back against the machine), my max is six plates on each side. Of course I wrap my knees and have a trainer spot me on these power sets.
Many times, I wake up in the morning with aches and pains. I say to myself, why do I put my body through this torture? Then I see the results, and it's worth the extra sweat and pain. Unfortunately, there's no magic pill for this shit...ya gotta hit it hard. |
