Hurricane Irene is supposed to hit the entire mid-atlantic coast soon so it's not just NY orgers that need to be prepared.
Or are you just concerned about me? |

By the time it comes to the Outer Banks here in NC, the hurricane intensity would drop to Cat 2, y'all will have Cat 1 if it remains a hurricane, but in any case, be careful. |

Very concerned about you. To avoid a storm on the org, about why only concerned about your well being, I did edit my post
Just as a precaution.

Oh and if you don't see me online Saturday, computer's off because you never know what wind and rain can do together lol. But I'm sure we'll dock the major bullet anyway. I doubt it will really make landfall in central NC, we're not part of the coast, thank God. |

I think we're just supposed to get a shitload of rain and some wind here in the Baltimore area sometime this weekend. We won't be directly hit though, so we should be okay!

Right I think that's all we'll get here in central NC. Of course Outer Banks is a concern but other than that everyone else should be okay. |

You been watchin' the Weather Channel at all? They don't exactly agree with you regarding possible damage from this storm. Evidently its just a big bad storm, regardless of what category hurricane it is when it gets there. |

I watched. They said it would drop to Cat 2, 1 when it comes here. Big bad storm, alright we'll see. |

Well, I haven't watched since yesterday, but they were actually saying it could get pretty serious up north. Like, above NY. Flooding, winds, possible tornadoes and other good "big bad storm" stuff. I'm not trying to do the scare tactics thing, I actually hate that shit. But it would suck if anything bad happened because people weren't taking it seriously. Mother nature ain't quite as predictable as she used to be. |

I was watching it last night and it said it would drop to Category 2 when it reached the Outer Banks and then 1 when it reached New York. So definitely I must've missed the fear factor reports they were going on about how this was a "big bad storm". Why you think I don't watch news in general? And yeah you can't predict how weather is going to be but I never thought it was predictable even when Hurricane Bertha and Fran came here a decade ago. |

Same here with the "news". I much prefer using the internet so I can find multiple articles told from different sides of the story when reading "news" these days. I've noticed that even our local news has shifted the tone of how they write and read their copy. Everything is "scary" and "bad", but told to you in a way that makes you believe they are 100% sincere. Drives me nutty... well, MORE nutty I guess.
Anyway, let be clear what I'm saying here. They weren't saying anything about it being a gnarly hurricane by the time it gets up there (which I think was Saturday). They're just saying its going to be a "big bad storm", especially for this time of year, which could potentially do a lot of damage and will probably catch some people off guard. |

Yeah I know what you meant, which makes better sense. Who knows what would happen? Temperatures where I'm at, it'll be 79 tops so we'll see if that keeps it from being "deadly". |

I don't live in any of the danger areas on the coast (my neighborhood is inland) so beyond making sure I have enough food for a few days, I won't be doing anything special. It will be just another storm for me. |

The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp. |

The one day in TWO years that I decide to fly to the midwest to visit my family now coincides with the same day that the worst storm in recent NYC history is supposed to hit. I'm guessing the chances of my Sunday afternoon flight out of Newark leaving on time or even at all are slim. I stopped visiting in the winter because of the potential of blizzards, snowstorms, etc. I thought August would be fine.
