Fashion stuff

So, today I got this really cute black jacket, its kind of a faded black, double breasted short jacket.. CUTE. AS. HELL. My question is...

Im my mind I should wear it with light colored jeans.. my daughter says you can wear it with any colored jeans cuz jeans match with anything...

Can I wear a black jacket with a darker wash?? I say jeans cuz its a casual jacket, not one to wear with dressier pants...

Also, can i wear it with skinny jeans with knee high boots (i got some new ones of those too!) These are them love

[img:$uid]http://i875.photobucket.com/albums/ab320/vicantq/shoes_ia26205.jpg[/img:$uid]

Or should I go with my lighter jeans and flats to make it a more casual outfit?

Im planning my DURAN DURAN outfit! excited

I may just go in a whole other direction rolleyes

I would say that the only color you couldn't wear a distressed black jacket with is...believe it or not...black. Blacks are insanely hard to put together - you don't want to put a black jacket that (for example) flares green with black pants that flare blue.

High boots with skinny jeans will make your hips and thighs look enormous - especially with a short jacket. The proportions are just very, very tricky. My opinion? You need to be six feet tall and a size 4 to make that work.

With a short jacket and skinny jeans, you need heels, though. Otherwise (again), your legs are going to look short and heavy.

You could easily wear the boots with a darker wash denim skinnies, a lighter top that goes past your hips and the shorter jacket on top.

I'll try to find a pic to show what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean. That would definitely work.

It would also look a lot more modern.

I guess it all kind of depends on where the top of the boot hits on the calf as well. I think with this kind of look, the closer to the knee the better.

I agree - you want the top of the boot to hit at a narrow spot on the leg.

And the top should have a little play around the hips (like in the photo) - nothing too tight.

More like a summery top (tankish) or can it be a regular kind of top

I wouldn't wear anything fussy. You're making a statement with the boots and jacket. Keep the top simple, and I'd stay away from a print as well.

Either would be fine - depends how it fits under the jacket. Sometimes a sleeveless style works better because you aren't crunching sleeves into sleeves - which tends to jack your neckline (among other things).

The only way you should be onstage dancing in flats is if:

A) You've been pulled from the handicapped section

B) You're at a Shanana concert.

Do they need ushers at Duran Duran concerts anymore? I think the five or six people there find their seats on their own.
