Very true. when I was young I worked for a stylist once who moved from Georgia to Miami, and he was prepping to by his mom back home a doublewide trailer. He showed me some brochure information and I was shocked at how modern and spacious they were. Depending on which angle you photograph them, some double wides even resemble the "shotgun house" style of architecture in the south, even though I think they're actually bigger . Another thing I learned that day is that trailer parks aren't just a non- minority enclave either; cause homeboy was a black dude with a Jheri curl . Anyhoo- who knew that these days they're making trailers with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms I figure it gives some folks the opportunity to own a little piece of something all their own in this world, good on them.

The trailors up here look like that... and so did the one in Georgia I stayed in. Remove most of potted plants, add bare spots to the grass, a swing set and throw in patio furniture on the deck, and its a perfect copy!

They're both the same except one's black and one's white.

I have a sister that lives in one and a good friend that lives in one also. High rates of alcohol for trailers and ghetto, but also high drug use with ghetto. Similar usage of bizarre names like Shayleigh, Jayden, Piney Jo, Cloris, Ella Mae for trailer and Lakisha, Shaniqua, Aquanetta for ghetto. Likely on Welfare or working menial unskilled or semi skilled jobs, or part time/casual/contract/ un employment. Both love guns. Both are likely to be ultra protestant religions - Baptist, methodist pentecostal or atheists. But the big difference Ghetto people are mostly Black and Latina and vote Democrat, Trailer Park are nearly all white (Mostly Anglo American) and vote Republican

Exactly, the trailers (we call them caravans here, are likely to date between 1945 and 1989 and have been in the same spot so long, the tyres have turned green or actually sunk into the ground past the hubcaps).

Here its different, very few whites are poor and if they are, they live in a rental property, most poor trailer trash are ruralised or semi civilised Maoris and Islanders who often have several caravans parked up on their property, usually neglected, we call them Maoravans that are full of relatives coming to stay, or a good way to accommodate the pregnant teenage daughter and her man. U also see them in fields in the country where poor casual labourers live in them. Most of them date between 1965 and 1980. Some are so poor that junked cars (Usually 1960s British junk up to 1980s Jap imports) will have a Maori pre teen or teenager living in them. Its sad but true with a huge housing shortage.

Trailer Park = Less Fortunate White People

Ghetto = Less Fortunate Black People
